Does anyone use this site? I tried joining it as detailing is one of my hobbys,so was hoping to learn a few more tips.
Just got an email back from them saying I don't meet their membership requirements, now to me that seams a bit of a joke what requirements to you need to join a forum or is it for the ELITE detailers and look down on people who do it as a hobby.

I am a member of DW - joined a couple of years ago. Seems strange to get that message back.

try clean your car, i found this useful and the guys on there are very helpfull.

Been on there for 5 1/2 years & never heard of anyone not meeting the criteria before

What was it exactly DW said that you didnt meet the criteria for?

I'm a member of DW and ive never heard of that before either?! what criteria didnt you meet then?!?

Unfortunately your registration at detailing world did not meet our membership requirements and has been declined reasons
You do not already have an account
You are not currently serving a ban or have had your account suspended
You are not trying to register using a business name as a username
Your username could be deemed offensive
Your username or email address has a large amount of characters in it that could be deemed as a source of spam ie D1gitAl j3di or Digital 1003324

I've never had a problem like this before with other forum I've emailed them and have not heard anything from them

I had the same, emailed the admins and got no reply. Simply registered again with the same details and it went through.

I've registered again so let's see what happens this time with the same details

turn back now, don't go in trust me you'll end up with a garage full off 3/4 used products and wonder where your cash went, its like looking for the holy grail it doesn't exist. look up porn instead that's why we have the internet.

I did warn you.

I'm already into detailing and have been for about 10 years now

I believe the last time I was on (a loong time ago) they were having issues with spam bots signing up, so made registration a bit harder to try and combat that.

try detailing nation... still a detailing forum, but less **** and stupid people.

I'm on DW a long time now, rarely post on it though as I wouldn't be a huge detailer, had no problems signing up years ago

joined up as I recognize a few usernames that don't frequent DW now, hope you don't mind but I put you in as the referral QB

I'm a member on detailing world, been there a few yrs

That's very strange. I joined in the last year or so and had no problems. From memory I had to have 10 posts before I could send PM's but that was it.

I joined a while back no issues but my first few times on there didn't really think much of it in as much as most peeps opinions of products are if it's not £50 squid plus it's not worth using, I am not nocking these expensive products but equally there are some fantastic products under the £50 pound barrier my benchmark to products are how long the shine lasts as most products on the day will look a million dollars but does not last.

That's a good observation. I stopped using DW as found that with so many users and so many different opinions - if you asked for some specific advice you would get some very varied answers that required you to spend a small fortune on product.

I found as well that many of the most prolific posters were full time detailers who regularly looked after very high end cars - therefore they would bang on about durability and protection where they are seeing customer cars every 2-3 months and hence need to keep customers happy with long lasting product. So the products suggested were £100 minimum in most cases

Sometimes I think it's better to post detailing questions on owners forums (like this one) and you will get responses that will suit your car better. Good example is polish for Audi clear coat - seen better answers on here than DW.....

Totally agree with this comment & looking at posts on DW it seems less popular now.

There are however some real good detailers on there & I still look at their results in amazement.
