Well I'm confirmed as build week 36.
That's when I'll start the countdown to swap my S3 for a RS6.
Delivery expected by end September.

Anyone else hitting these dates?

Am I missing something here? I thought this was an A3/S3 forum. Away with you sir, you're now an interloper LOL

Hi,

I have Build week 35 and I ordered my S3 the first week of may! I have lost all hope.. I have been told beginning of October for delivery....

That's probably the difference between a dealer ordering a brand new build and using an existing build slot (which was destined as a car for stock) for a customer's order. Mine may well have taken as long as yours but my dealer transposed an existing build slot and used that for my order. Hence why some people are getting their cars much earlier than you. Once the car reaches factory code 10 no further changes can be made. It's worth discussing with your supplying dealer. But if he had no remaining build slots then the delay is understandable.

Like p9lad I ordered an S3 Sportback around 11 May. At the time I was given a preliminary BW of 35. This isn't yet confirmed (understand that happens around 4 weeks prior) and it may come forward (I hope!). Anticipated delivery is late September....

hi guys, I did speak to my dealer Watford branch and he said there was nothing he could do to move it forwards, he ordered an S3 for himself as a company car and his is coming in September and he ordered his in February! I guess il just have to be patient and wait... shame I really wanted to have it for the summer!

I could go into long-winded details about how it's always worse for someone else, but... I'll just say that I could only dream of a five-month wait. At least you all know what you're ordering when you order it. AoA can't even pull their specs together.

You're lucky, I ordered my A3 saloon in the second week of March and I got build week 37! Estimated delivery in week 41, that's a 7 month wait for a regular saloon! :(

ah that's really bad! I just don't get it why it takes so long.. is the factory really small or something? My mum ordered a brand new BMW 320 Xdrive and got it in 6 weeks! guess I will just have to keep googling Panther Black S3 Sportbacks! lol

Add me to the BW35 club please... I've been told the end of Sept is likely.

Hi all, just been told last night by my sales guy Car will be delivered end of October now... this is literally a 6 month wait... :-( I told him I expect some serious amount of freebies when I get the car! he said he will take care of me.... lol

Sorry to hear that - must be update time as I heard from my sales rep yesterday as well. I'm still sitting with a provisional BW35. His view is this getting more unlikely to come forward as time creeps on but at least hasn't moved back.

I have a provisional build week 35 Dealer has suggested end of September delivery.
Ordered 30/06/2014 :footy:

hi mate you are lucky.. I ordered early may got a build week of 35 and have been told mid October delivery! :-(

Build week put back to 38, so I'm out of the thread I started!!!!!
Mid October delivery now.

Blow softened by the salesman giving me their R8 for a couple of days.

Build Week 35 now confirmed, so expecting late September delivery.

Somehow I haven't been given a confirmed build week yet, but have been reassured a few times of a delivery for end of October after getting confirmation of my order at start of July.. So I'm assuming I will get a build week around these weeks? Or am I completely off the mark?

My dealer gave me an estimated build week at the time I ordered (11 May) and that's now just been confirmed at BW35 with an est. end September delivery.

I suspect if you've been given an end October delivery then an estimated build week for you would be c. 38/39 perhaps? From reading previous posts the BW get confirmed and "locked" around 4 weeks before the actual BW itself.

Agh ok, that sounds about right, as I ordered my car through work, all I get given is "delivery date to myself on 24/10/14" and current status "on order" "factory ordered" if anyone knows what that means lol

I sneak into this. Build week 36 now confirmed and locked for my new S3 sportback. I imagine it's going to be a long couple of months!

Anyone on BW33? Been waiting since start of March and me A3 Saloon is finally getting built :)

BW 36 for me!! w/c 1st September for an early October delivery.....

The wait has been painful!!!

It would appear that I've been bumped from BW 37 to 36 so hello to you fine people! It's only a weeks difference but I'm happy all the same! Looking for delivery at the end of Sept.

It's awfully quiet in here... anyone got their car yet?

I just got a call a week ago from my dealer saying be late September early October but wouldn't know definitely till middle of September... so really no information more of a call to say I haven't forgotten about u have a cuddle! lol :slap:

My bw was 35, called the dealer today who said it was currently being built and to still expect end of Sept / early Oct for delivery. Can't wait!

Mine was BW 35 also, and was told last week that the car is built and on a boat heading towards the UK - expected delivery date is the last week of September, but they won't know for sure until the boat is landing apparently.

BW36, just had a call to say it's at the port across the channel so won't be long now

So, as we approach the end of BW36, who has had their cars confirmed built/shipped/delivered?

Can't be long for some of us now!

HB but I still reckon I'd get 5 in, the boot isn't that much smaller!

My car is in the UK and should be at dealer's next week but I may not be able to take it due to a horrible turn of events :sorry:

Is this turn of events something you'd rather not share with the forum? Whatever it is all your friends here feel for you as you must be gutted.

Very kind of you to say. One of the reasons I love this site is the friendly people on here! I don't mind sharing the circumstances. Basically, my grandfather was taking the credit out and partially paying towards the car due to my age giving me a total lack of credit history. Whilst gardening almost three weeks ago, he had a pain in his chest. Paramedics said everything appeared normal but he went in as a precaution. A few hours later, his heart stopped without any warning whatsoever and he was gone.

Yes, I'll of course be slightly disappointed if I can't get the car but as I've said to others, I'd trade being in any car to have him back. In the grand scheme of life, cars don't mean jack but if anyone has a spare £27k kicking around, give me a shout;)

But seriously people, it has put everything into perspective and I will now make sure to live life to the fullest and be grateful for everyone and everything I have - I suggest you all do the same:beerchug:

So sorry to hear about your loss, hope you are ok.

:(

Losing someone close to you is heart wrenching isn't it? My 100 year-old stepmother died suddenly in May and whilst it should be no surprise it did still come as a shock. So I know how you must be feeling.
Yes the lesson for all of us (as you rightly say) is to live each day as if it's your last. There will always be another car but never another grandfather.
Please accept my condolences.

Sorry to hear about your sad news benhock. As you say, it does change your perspective on things.

My car is also in the UK awaiting transport to the dealer.
