As above really, I put my trust in a fellow forum enthusiast to supply me a DTM rear bumper. No reason to think that it would be in the state it's arrived in! Melted from behind, completely changed shape, corners missing, split between the lower valance and the centre of the bumper! And all this for £290!! Wow ******* bargain of the century!! NOT!!!
Granted it is getting painted so most of it doesn't bother me, but the melted part has really ****** me off! Due to the ***** attitude of the seller I thought I would name and shame!!
I'm a genuine guy and will help anyone.
Lesson from this.... Becareful who you trust.

Pictures up later....

totally agree with your actions! they need naming, shaming and avoiding at all costs!

I was hoping we could have come to an agreement with maybe a partial refund, but no such look, just attitude.
I would usually avoid doing this at all costs as it's not my style.
I'll fix it, because I can. But for that price I wanted to just paint it and fit it.

I 100% agree with Craig on this one.

I have had my 2 experiences my self from forum members on here. Thou I am not in a position to name and shame. As since me contacting them personally "they know who they are" seem to have not made any posts or contact on the forum.

Sorry to hear about the bumper, its one thing when you parting with your money for something when you expect it to be at least of some form of standard or quality, its another when they just take you for granted and just walk over you.

Even thou you are in the trade business with dealing with paintwork correction and panel fixing every day that does not change the principle that people should abuse that.

Its people like us craig that keep this world at balance but sadly there will always be one c*** to spoil it for the rest.

Exactly mate.... I didn't expect a mint bumper in anyway, but I didn't expect it to be melted.

I've bought and sold all sorts on here, and spent some ****** good money in the process. But I'm pleased to say that it's only the minority that let the side down.

It's just the principle of it all really. I've missed out on a front and rear now on eBay because of it. Well might aswell make some use out it....
I'll do a repair and paint process thread just to lighten the mood :) haha!

Haha! I'll either put it in primer ready for another buyer (and offer to paint in colour of choice) or paint it misano red and keep it as a spare. Who knows might end up with a DTM with rear end damage (hopefully) in the future :)

Sorry to hear about this Craig, hope it all gets resolved one way or another. I've only had good experiences with forum members (yourself included) but can definately see how one bad expetiance would offset all the good.

Always a last resort to name and shame but you are justified here!
Lucky you can sort it but imagine someone who doesnt have your skills to put it right who had just shelled out nearly 300 quid:confused:

A pity this kind of thing happens on a community when we all have a great interest in the same thing!:kissmyrings:

Wow what a shame :(
Sorry to hear that happened mate

IMO members on the forum that actually selling goods should be verified somehow, maybe someone could come up with an idea, something like eBay...

Just to stop this from happening again...

This also happened to me here too when I bought H&R 25mm spacers and what I received was FK 30mm spacers!

I didn't contact or anything because I knew it would be pointless

Anyway this has at least happen once to every one of us, so we should do something about it...

Maybe only verified members could sell goods, just an idea but may work

Cheers

Fanboy is bang on.....The Forum admin team should make it mandatory that a certain time as a member / or amount of postings are required before placing classified adverts so they can at least be sussed out a bit.

The thing with having a post count before posting in the classifieds is you end up with lots of random spam posts all over the place just so that they can reach their level.

I have seen people do it within a day, so that doesnt really fill me with confidence.

Its a shame that this has happened on the forum to a respected member on here, hopefully some good will come from it in the end.

Sorry to hear about the issue Craig :( Hope it get sorted asap mate. Cant wait to see the car in its new forum though ;)
I've bought off this forum member and had no problems. Always been very helpful. He a cool guy marv.
Think every one can name at least onebad experience with buying some thing weather on forums or ebay.
I may be interested in a rear bumper if you still have it in a few weeks or something. Can never have too many spare parts lol.
Need a front bumper as well haha.

To be honest chaps, it's something I really didn't want to do. We could have come to an arrangement and it would have been fine.

But as mentioned above, if it was someone who couldn't repair it etc then it would have been a real trousers down moment.

I hope something can be done for the future to protect other buyers and of course sellers.

If this post alone manages to make the forum a safer place to sell in the future, then It's worth it.

Ash, the bumper will be up forsale as soon as I'm happy with the repair. I've just secured a deal for a complete front a rear bumper and the carbon fibre spoiler, so I will probably have no use for said bumper. It will be in primer ready for paint as well :)

Really didn't want to name and shame. Being the person iam, and after calming down, I feel quite bad. But I shouldn't lol!

The thing with having a post count before posting in the classifieds...

That's a good idea but as you said spamming is the ways round it... :(
Unless we were to have some sort of reputation system (something like "Like" that's already in use) but much effective whereby we could actually use it...

So every person receives + or - for every useful or useless posts they make, something similar to Stack Overflow! I'm a programmer myself and I use it all the time and we usually vote up or down the posts based on their usefulness... as well as NOT asking the same questions over and over again... it is quite annoying to see when somebody's asking the same question and they weren't actually bothered to search...

So what I'm saying is this vote up/down can be effective as explained above, also we build reputation for ourselves...
Maybe this would be something for site ADMINS to look into and come up with a solution...

Sorry for giving you chaps headache, maybe I'm just chatting ******** :(

Cheers

I think that would be good to be honest mate. An eBay style feedback would probably be best. I'm sure the classifieds section had something like that a while ago, but it changed back.
Most have been a few bugs in it.

For the seller it would be more of a digitally signed declaration to say "I have been as honest as I can with this item and any issues have been stated"
That way everybody knows where they stand. If the buyer accepts that then it would save issues like this.
If the buyer didn't accept the sellers terms, then the item simply wouldn't sell. Easy really (not sure it's that easy from a programming side like)

I can understand your upset with the item. The issue with ratings etc is that same fools that sell the rubbish with broken parts etc are the ones who claim things arrive broken, incorrect etc...

I've bought a lot of stuff on here and a few other forums and luckily not had a single incident that wasn't sorted after a single message. I sold some wheels and one had a nail in it which I didn't realise, the bloke sent a message saying he wasn't that fussed but wishes I'd mentioned it so I gave him a 10er back to have it fixed. Shame is there are so many dishonest people about ruining it for everyone.

I hope you can fix it up, but I'd say a few quid to allow for the condition difference would be most fair.

That would have been fine with me. But instead I got a response saying "I'm not talking to you anymore"

What can ya really say to that? So I just left it and pursued my own course of action.

I would have been happy if he offered to give me a £50 refund. But talking seemed to be an issue, which says he knew it was in a bad state.

I once sold I DV which I though was all intact, but was missing a part of the harness. Forum member contacted me, I apologised, we reached an agreement and nothing more was said. Everybody's happy.

Surely stuff like this deserves a ban or etleast a word from the mods, although I suppose chances are he would just create another account.

I visited Craig on Saturday, saw this DTM bumper he bought. It's a right mess, having been fitted to a diesel without the exhaust tailpipe being redirected. So burning and melting the bumper. What an idiot that guy was!!

My whatsapp needs updating so been unable to reply to you :( Got to delete some junk off my phone lol. Can't wait to see it with the new bits fitted! Fresh engine and fresh look! Going to look and feel like a new car! Hopefully i'll be able to catch you at some shows next year :)
