So yeah, that's basically what has happened. Car is not responding well at all. New one on way but has anyone had this problem before? Standard intake hose!

Wouldnt normally happen since the intake side would be vacuum. Cant you just fit a new jubilee? I had one snap there.

It snapped off on the edge. I bodged it on with a bigger jubilee and it ended up coming off. The car then lost power, ECU didn't know what was going on, smelt funny as well. Luckily I got back home but it doesn't look good. There must be a reason why it blown, maybe the turbo waste gate is seized or the veins perhaps?

They rot and break off... there is no pressure on the inlet side so it won't have blown off... you say it 'snapped' off? if thats the case then this is standard for a rotten OE TIP...

So the car going into slow mode and not knowing what to do is nothing to worry about? I've got a badger5 kit coming, I'm hoping the car is fine again once fitted.

If its just that pipe thats split it will be fine, Its drawing in alot of unmetered air and will be making the car run lean.

Cheers guys. I was just worried as it really struggled to get up the road earlier and it started to smell like something was burning.

not blown... perished and torn, thats not unheard of.. seen several

Check your engine mounts.. Excess play will be wobbling the motor, and the TIP has to take that wobble as its fixed one end to the airbox.. Keep wobbling anything and it will snap
