I had a noise..... Vump vump vump continuos as engine ticks over. Coming from the air box can feel it through the inter cooler pipes. I thought egr as. When I pushed the anti shudder valve in half way the noise stopped. So took off cleaned put back on. But now eml keeps coming off and on. And lost all boost when eml is off bit boost when it is on. Please help. Much appreciated guys
 
Yes not sure what you mean though? It sounds like the exhaust is blowing but it's from the air filter?
 
Had it out didn't look too bad would that cause these problems?

Could be getting exhaust/manifold confused with the airbox? Just basing this off EML and boost issues.
 
Air box holds panel filter. Currently a k&n can also feel from intercooler pipes defo coming from there. Not sure if it may be a turbo problem maybe vanes?
 
Just a thought could have put the vac hoses back in the wrong places?
 
What engine and what type of k&n is it... quite a lot of people say k&n generally do more bad than good especially if it's a 1.9tdi.
 
1.9tdi pd 130. I had the vac hoses off but not sure if i put them back in the right places!
 
Just a panel k&n that fits in the oem air box
 
I've had K&N panels on many different VAG cars with out issue. Had one on my A4 PD130 for the last 50k.
Problems with K&N's are usually caused by over oiling them when cleaning, which then oils up the MAF.

You guys are crazy haha if this was tdiclub they'd be going nuts, etleast it's pannel rather than cone. Entirely up to the buyer if they believe what products say on the tin but best bet would be going to Euro car parts, getting a cheap OEM filter and hoping it's not too late.

There's an obscure part called the pulsation damper box, which is part of the charge air cooling system, & sits behind the air box (30 in the diagram). I remember a guy on another forum with a TDI Passat B6 having a problem related to it which he described as a thumping sound coming from his air box. Wondering if you have the same issue.

Sweet I'll try that. Could anyone give me a detailed diagram to show where the two vac pipes go the one from the vnt actuator (top of turbo) and the one from the anti shudder valve (side of egr) please
 
I had this on mine before I had my head rebuilt lol
Check vac lines and check again
Do a compression test
Replace air filter
Vagcom it for injectors tolerances and synchro angle


I didn't know exactly what It was but it's went away
 
Thats what I'm asking it was fine till I took the vac lines off but stupid me took them right out so need an idiots detailed guide
