I've bought a 2003 B6 Avant which needs new front wipers. Main problem is that the 'old type' connectors on the wipers I've just bought are nothing like the ones on the car already. The ones on the car look like this:

I always thought this type of connector was the one for aero wipers? Confusingly, my wiper blades are the normal type, and not aero.
Any ideas?

Yes thats Aero fitment, but you can buy Bosch retro Aero wipers that fit the old type arms.

Cheers all. Does anyone know if 22" aero blades will fit a B6 Avant? Looks like the B7 would be 22", but I thought they had the same sized screen as the B6 (and my current B6 wipers are 21")

Am wondering if these will fit (call 'V-notch fit'?):

Ive just asked this same question,,my aero's are 22" but the bosch items show 22"......

22" is the correct length for both wipers on A4 B6. But I wouldn't buy cheap aftermarket Aero's as they're usually awful for smearing. Buy cheap, buy twice.

Thanks again mate and good advice........... I will buy bosch

Thanks for the replies. I ordered 22" aero wipers - just need to fit them now!

Is the blade you have now an aero or the metal framed blade, looks like my arms before I changed mine that weren't aero.....

The original blade was metal framed. I was told on this thread that I have aero arms. So I've bought 22" aero blades to fit the arms. But it doesn't match up. Confused.

Im thinking your arms aren't compatible with aero blades like mine weren't on my 2002 a4,i changed them for the arms from a 2004 a4 which were aero.

Yeah, looks like I bought my aero blades for no reason :/
Since found an ebayer who sells the best of both - aero blades which have standard connectors. 20 notes, although I have spent about 15 on previous old school blades (with B5 type fitment) and late B6/7 aero blades. Guess I'll hang onto them until I inevitably buy a B7 at some point in the future.

Just buy some B7 arms and be done with all the hassle. Best mod you'll ever make.

If I hadn't bought the 'best of both' blades yesterday, I think I'd be scouring evil bay for b7 arms. I'll see how the new blades go, and if their rubbish I'll be doing the b7 conversion!
