Mesa's 2009 Misano Red S3 S-tronic

Thanks Alex, back at you....seriously impressed and somewhat inspired by your thread.

I'll try to get a proper photo shoot in soon, once cleaned up and in the right location with the right space and time.

The joke down at AMD is that my car usually leaves cleaner than it arrived......

Red bolts definately, could always get anodised bolts so they are as shiny as you've photoshopped them.

I read this document before even using the SPS switch.

https://products.revotechnik.com/products/pdf/SelectPlus_AdvancedUserGuide_V0707.pdf

Just for reference Martin spoke to Revo when setting mine (Stage 2 using 99RON) to the following:
Boost 8, Timing 5, Fuel 9.

He asked me to come back to adjust the timing more accurately and do some VCDS logs, I just haven't had time yet,

Have you upgraded your HPFP? If so your fuel should be a lower number than 9.

You prob already know this but the number for fuel goes the opposite way to the numbers for timing and boost.

It's stock HPFP, these settings are what Revo quoted to Martin for the spec of my car.

Ah ok well that sounds spot on then. Well if Revo quoted them then they must be spot on. I am surprised you are still running stock fuel pump with a Stage 2 car.

Wow wow wow! I wish I had the funds to do what you did!

Bet it was like having a new car again!

Post some videos up on YouTube and link them here, be good to see and hear her in action!

Cheers guys. Going to Wales end of Sep will try to get some go pro footage.

You need the uprated pump for Stg2+,which is pump-specific software, not Stg2,although the uprated HPFP can be run with Stg2 software.

I'll be getting the uprated HPFP after my Ibiza holiday in October, much rather have £400 more to get off my face over there ha.

Last I heard of prices over there, you're going to need all you can get...LOL

Have fun.

Sounds like you're well prepared......like me and Berlin!

Yeah but sure Im only on stage 1 and I got the Loba and it made a noticeable improvement. Know a few that have. Have you not said yourself on this forum that some people run it on stage 1 and see the benefit? Im 99% sure ive read you saying that.

I know some people say they've noticed a benefit.

I hadn't tried it myself,so I wouldn't back it up,but it's like those who say an RS4 fuel pressure regulator at Stg1 or 2 makes a difference.....it shouldn't,but some say it feels faster.

The HPFP for Stg2+ certainly does make a big difference, and removes the torque dip that you otherwise get in the midrange.

Yeah. I think @Marshy noticed a big difference when he upgraded his. I plan to go stage 2+ so would have needed it eventually anyway.

Oh and really nice car @Mesa its interesting seeing what you are doing to it as visually its almost identical to my own, although im just on the standard alloys. Mine is a manual as well.

Right so I'm sat in Demon Tweeks after Kwickfit destroyed my geometry and tracking.

I know I know...Kwickfit. I foolishly thought because they've got the latest Hunter system it's fool proof.

After they adjusted it the car is dangerous. I had to nurse it home 40miles with a serious pull to the left and it feeling like I was driving on marbles with every small bump kicking it all over the place.

I've never driven a car that's felt so bad and I've even driven a mile with a driveshaft half hanging out a shattered hub once!

This morning the car felt like it was pulling to the right! Somethings seriously wrong with it. Not impressed.

Guys at Tweeks looked at the kwickfit print off and say it's way off. Says castor is well off but can't be adjusted on the S3 or will need to move the subframe or something.

I'll report back when they have a look.

Ok not happy. I feel half ****** off and half embarrassed.

Tyre pressure were all very low. When pumping them up massive egg in one of the inner sidewalls like dangerous.

My fault for not checking pressure.

Garage who put them on should have checked.

Kwickfit who ran a full geometry check should have checked.

Geometry is way off even to their eye.

Having to put a cheap tyre on and source a like for like replacement for the one egged.

Aggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I know how you feel.

Mine is checked over at least twice a year and the geometry usually slips off a bit.

A lot of places have no idea how to adjust anything on these cars.

Crap! You should maybe go back to quick fit and ask for your money back? I got the 4 wheel alignment done myself and also was told about the castor. Have often wondered if you can get an adjustable part like you can on the 8L. And know what you mean about the pressures too as our local garage just puts 30 odd psi into each tyre when fitting new ones, they dont bother to check what should be in it! Was it the bad alignment job that caused the tyre going bad do you think? Or the low pressures?

The tyres came supplied at 20psi. Won't go into it whilst I've got a dispute with them but their website clearly states the wheels and tyres will be supplied ready to fit straight to your vehicle. So as far as I'm concerned they've been negligent in care.

Also kwickfit should have tested tyre pressures before starting the alignment. Not only that but they put the wrong car in the system and we're trying to align to a standard A3. And they were miles out. I did get a refund from them but have wasted half a day of my time on them and put undue stress on myself the car and have had a car not fit to drive being dangerous. Again I have a dispute with them so won't say anything else.

Demon Tweeks were excellent. I explained the problem. They drove the car to see themselves and went through the tyre issue. I've had a the cheapest possible put on to get the car working and to get the alignment done.

Needless to say their work was top notch. The tech even brought it back after the road test and spent a bit longer tweaking it to be spot on.

I'll scan the alignment prints and get them up when I can.

Having an absolute nightmare.

Just gone to wash car and the new tyre that was fitted is as flat as a pancake.

Guys bit of help....

Can I put the old wheel on without risk of damage to the Haldex.

New wheels 8.5 inch wide ET45 with 225/40/18,
Old wheels 7.5 inch wide standard offset 225/40/18

I'm just going to stick the old wheels on till this is sorted.

This is why I never use places like Kwikfit, National Tyres, ATS or the similar, always go to a recommended specialist.

I've just spent the morning changing wheels over instead of spending it with my mum (and it's her birthday).

Two valves leaking air. Supplied like this. As kwikfit didn't even check pressures it wasn't them. Was supplied new like that. Flush valves.

Getting fed up of the whole wheel tyre issue. I just want a damn car I can drive I've spent enough!

Right, just a quick update on the whole wheel/tyre and geometry issue, but first a quick update (cue wobbly fade transition)

Ordered wheel and tyre package from Wheelbase Alloys. Were fitted the same time Revo Stage 2+ and three days later the car went into KwikFit to go on their hunter alignment system. Car came out of KwikFit worse than went in. Horrible. Dangerous. Booked in with Demon Tweeks the following day. Tweeks found all four tyres around 20psi with one damaged. Noticed that KwikFit had put car in system as A3 instead of S3 and agreed was off loads. New budget tyre was fitted to get me home and get the geometry done. Following day the new tyre was flat. All four wheels off, another valve found to be leaking. Shocking.

So fast forward what's been happening over the last week or two.

I've spoken to the branch manager from the Altrincham KwikFit who admitted tyre pressures were not checked as part of the tracking. I argued that they were incompetent and negligent in allowing a car with pressures at 20psi to leave their premises. Didn't agree with me and whilst they apologised I wasn't satisfied. A follow-up call from the regional manager didn't get me any further. They again agreed that a basic part of the job I had paid for wasn't done but failed to acknowledge any responsibility for the damage caused or that the car was given back to me in a dangerous state. Went as far as suggesting I should have checked pressures myself and the tyres could have gone down after the car was with them etc. Not impressed KwikFit are a disgrace and so am I for even going there. I won't be taking a **** in their premises anymore.

Wheelbase were arguing that not all four valves would have leaked and I won't need four new tyres because only one needed changing.
Demon Tweeks have been excellent not only performed a spot on setup but have sent me a report stating the condition of the car when with them. That's gone to Wheelbase.

New tyre ordered along with three new valves to be put on wheels. Put the wheels in the boot and drove the 40miles to work. Tyre fitter came, after me being very clear that the valves are flush fit and all the issues I've had. "Can't do the tyres today because of the valves we'll have to come back Monday". Further disappointment.

Monday morning the new tyre has gone on and the other wheels now have standard valves. I was watching the fitter take the tyre off and one valve was rattling around the rim, another was finger tight and the other two lose. Shocking basically.

Wheelbase have agreed to pay for the new tyre/valves along with the one I had to replace.

Still waiting for refund and never got an apology.

What a nightmare you've had. I dread taking my car anywhere these days for wheel alignment. There is a place in Stockport called ProSport who bought a VW service shop proper wheel alignment rig. I'll be going there next time I need it doing.

Pulling this thread out of the dusty bin.

I now own this S3, what a beast it is.....

Now, just want to clarify a couple of things before I upgrade a few bits,
am I right in thinking the hpfp is completely stock, the dv is completely stock and the fuel return valve is stock?

You can guess where I'm heading with this hahaha..........380bhp.

I want to get these bits installed to really unlock the stage 2+ map

P.S I also live on the wirral, so you may see it around.....
