Hey.

So previous to my earlier post RE purchase of a damaged repaired B7 Final edition convertible, the car is now home from Halifax to Kent. Drives very well, little clutch judder (egr possibly) in first but other than that pulls strong.

So all went well (bearing in mind the price I paid for the car was very good), although there are a few niggles....

Clearly, as the car had a knock on its passenger side it's thrown out the levels of the xenon headlights. One headlight is newer than the other as it was replaced. When driving the drivers side seems much higher than the other. Fused removed to avoid warning light as it's not on possibly?

Other issue is the air con. Well no air con. And well er...no real push in heating either. Pretty **** poor ventilation full stop.

So I'm thinking, before I start a journey into turning this poor unfortunate soul into something brilliant I need it looking over. I have no knowledge of VAG, I'm willing to learn but also willing and waiting if there is a keen pair of eyes who wants to be paid to tell me if I really have just purchased the Mary Celeste of audi convertibles! Considered pulling into audi today to arrange them to check it over but I know how that's going to go so didn't!

Many thanks

Clutch judder in 1st is isually dual mass flywheel on its way out. About 800-1200 to fix

May I recommend pulling into a VAG garage be the last thing to do. Isn't there a good Audi indie garage nearby first. A VAG garage will take your wallet Nd your heart to the cleaners.

C'mon UK Audi don't be frightening the poor chap......shop around for a good clutch dmf and getting that done along with all the other work required will be achievable for far less with a good independent garage.

Good luck,
A

Well you can possibly get it cheaper but from what i heard cheap ebay dmf are not good. I heard of one that lasted 2 weeks

Agreed...I have never bought engine parts on fleabay unless sellers are legit big companies.....shopping around from reputable UK indie parts wholesalers would be my route. I only buy my pumps, filters, wipers belts etc from VAG.....and would never dream of asking an Audi garage to fit 'em either!

Cheers
