Who is stage 2+ on the standard s3 cooler and what sort of figures did you achieve?

I'm booked in to have full BCS with 90mm decat down pipe and thinking of putting a loba pump on and maybe one of these new peron coolers.

But think of just the pump to see how people get on with the cooler first.

Mine made 360bhp and 360lbs on the stock cooler, without WMI.

The average figures are anywhere from 360-380bhp,and similar torque, which is within the variations of most rollers.

You don't NEED a big intercooler for STg2+,but what it will do is to reduce power loss on long full throttle runs or hot days, but at Stg3 or above, you would need a larger intercooler and WMI as well.

That's not to sad I'll be wrapping my revo intake and heat shield in this stuff

Also the exhaust is being wrapped. I will be getting a cooler though may do it same time just time off work. Then I'll need to make a decisio on the Nortech kit really.

Was it noticeable power loss when driving?

I'm not convinced that the tape makes a huge impact, although it looks nice, because by the time it's been through the turbo, that makes a far bigger difference, due to compression heating, but any little helps.

To put your question another way, what I noticed with previous BT cars, and my current one,is that on a cold day, with a bit of humidity, the car can be noticeably quicker, but you would expect that from running lower intake temps, and better temps,post-intercooler.

As I now have a bigger intercooler plus WMI,I don't notice any losses on hot days.

Haven't actually checked my cars a 2010. Had the alloy s3 one on OK my gti but sold it at stage 2.

I have a 2011 S3 and that came with the 'cooler with the plastic ends, it isnt as good as the full alloy one.

I went with eurojet in the end, definitely felt the difference!

Yeah, if you are facelift, you will have the plastic end tank one. I recently upgraded my FMIC to the stage 2 Airtec and apart from noticing the consistent power on hot days and spirited runs, I felt a very noticeable increase and delivery in mid range torque from 3k through to the limiter.

Which showed in the dyno print out I had done. 386 ft.lbs. Compared to a previous run a while back which only saw 350 ft.lbs. (minus a CAI and RFD)
