So I've had the car about 3 months and today was the first time I heard the alarm, I left the windows down when the car was parked on my drive, wind must have set it off

So is just a beep and hazard lights. My last car sounded the horn on the alarm..

Anyone else think it's a bit rubbish?

Yea its not the best Aaron, I remember reading before it could be upgraded on the B6 model, but haven't looked into it for the B8.

I know on my old Vectra you could disconnect the alarm siren and it would use the horn as the alarm

If that works for the A4 Id be happy!lol

Sounds like a job after the dinner!lll

Before I go out for a nosy does anyone know the excat location on the B8 A4? Cheers

Shaun, I'm sure I read a post by SI-W85 regarding upgrading the alarm sound, maybe drop him a pm.

This seems like an opportunity for a b8 owner to get his/her name on the Modifications List, hehehe!

Agreed its abit pants! If you disconnect it only the lights will flash, been and tried that awhile back.

Pondering on it, if you good with electronics I wonder if you could tap of it and maybe wire up a secondary siren somewhere?

Yes I started a thread regarding the pathetic alarm siren John, however I still haven't done anything about it :/ my thoughts were to just take the feed to the siren and put to the horn instead or as well but I'm unsure wether it's the siren or the programming that causes the pulsing as it may well just be a constant supply when activated, so giving a constant horn. I'm no auto electrician so unsure wether or not its that simple :/

Nothing's simple on an Audi, but no doubt some-one will come up with a solution, soon I hope coz the A5 seems to be the same.

I am sure nosing through VCDS yesterday there was an option to use the horn for the car alarm am convinced i have seen it

If you find it, please post VCDS instructions, I'll add it to my list of VCDS mods to be done mate. ;)
