Car Sailed It's Mot @ 237,000kms

Just had the annual Besiktning done on my car ( IKEA m.o.t ) and it sailed it with no remarks @ 147k Miles.....this was the second year in a row the inspector congratulated me on the mechanical nick of my old rusty bus.....Chuffed to f&ck I am today. Owned the car since May 2012 when it had 169,000 kms on the clock. Todate, it's been the most reliable car I have ever owned ( 28 years ) and cheapest to run in terms of replacement parts and visits to the garage for repair!.....I can't say that about the mpg though but it's liveable with......Just gotta watch the ticking balancer chain time bomb.....but not hint of that yet!

Why not upgrade the balancer etc so it doesn't go :p

Not sure if it's upgradeble....it's not the hex shaft engine issue model.....Good question.....thought about it......not sure what the labour costs would be here......it's not an engine out job is it.....how many hours?

Hej Sandra & Thanks....actually been really nice....bit of an Indian Summer....was 25c yesterday.....bit of rain today and probably start to cool down later towards the month. No complaints this Summer....it's been wonderful....and Numpty me has been working throughout!...Off to Belgium for work this week, then off to Germany for 3 days on the lash the following! week....Happy Days! Was back in Glasgow earlier this month for three days and it didn't rain.....it's was a new pb for me! hehehehe
