To summarise quotes so far:

warrantywise £449
warrantydirect £370
£338 Audi's own extended warranty (named component, less than 15k mileage and no breakdown cover)

I would just like to know if anyone has already confirmed and bought for themselves once of these which covers the stronic?

Thanks

I had a Audi Extended Warranty from Mondail, for Comprehensive cover on my MY2011 S3 8P. It was around £420 for a year, so comparable to the other 3rd party quotes you have above.

I can confirm that both the Comprehensive, and Named Component, cover the S-tronic gearbox, but both exclude wear and tear on the clutch.

I went with Comprehensive because mine was a Black Edition, and Named Component didn't cover the RNS-E unit in the car.

Be careful with 3rd party providers - very often they have a maximum labour rate, which won't cover the labour rates charge at a Audi main dealer.

The other advantage of going with the Audi Extended Warranty (from Mondial) is that the Main Dealer Service Dept are quite happy to deal direct with them, saving you hassle as a go-between.

You can look at the policy booklet here:

Thanks very much, think I may as well stick with the cheaper and main Audi guys then. My current third party expires a month from now (free one from the garage recently bought from), so sorting one out today/tomorrow as it takes a month to activate.

I'm with warrantywise, I havent had to claim with them but I only chose them because they said they will definitely cover dsg.

I think it's worth having, especially if the age and mileage puts your car at risk of a dsg fault. I think I would weep if I had to shell out the full price for a new dsg if it went pop!
