Hi Guys,

My B7 A4 seems to be suffering with some kind of judder - seems to be just 1st and 2nd gear and mainly when cold. I've noticed it in the past but it seems to do it much more frequently now. I've just had the Oil Pump/Balance shaft work done with the geared conversion and had her remapped to 170 - not sure if perhaps the remap has further highlighted this issue?

Any ideas what it might be? I'm worried it's the DMF and I've just told Warranty Direct that I don't want to renew!

What about a dirty EGR valve? I thought I might try cleaning that first as that seems to be the easiest fix?

Cheers

Alex

Thinking about it - I don't think this is clutch judder as it's not when pulling off, clutch is fully disengaged and simply occurs when accelerating so perhaps it's not DMF/Clutch related.

Faulty injector?

I'll try and get vag-com hooked up and see if there are any fault codes.

Get vag-com on it and see what it brings up. Would be pointing a finger at either an injector or def coaking up somewhere! Where are you based?

Cool thanks will get vag-com on it tomorrow and see what it says :) I've ordered all the parts to do an EGR clean anyway so will see if it's any better after that. Also ordered somg bg244 injector cleaner as that came well recommended.

Based in Nottingham btw

Update on this - went to clean EGR yesterday and couldn't for the life of me get the bolts off the EGR cooler pipe. Apparently they are M10 spline - well they are definitely not!

I've now only just realised I could cheat and use a large allen key so i'll be trying again today.

What I did manage to do however is get the Anti Shudder Valve off and give that a good clean - it was full of crap. Don't know if it's just me though but I swear it was making some funny noises driving into work today and didn't seem to pull as much??

It also was smoking loads! Is this normal after just cleaning the Anti Shudder?! When cleaning it I moved the flap manually to clean it and around it - is this ok? I figured it would be as i've done this to clean throttle bodies in the past.

Anyhow going to do full clean of EGR today so it'll all come off again and i'll reseal with new gaskets. I did notice some drops of oil in the large pipe that connects to the Anti Shudder Valve - should I be worried about this?!

Cheers
