Sepang Blue Without Black Pack??

Just got in from collecting my S3. I've taken loads of pictures but as I have to pop out (seriously, my mother left her coat at the wedding hotel on Friday), you'll have to make do with these for now. First thoughts are WOW! What a car!

When I saw the Golf R deals that's what prompted me to look at the S3 deals. They will dry up by end of Sept as they will no doubt hit their targets by then. VW know what they are doing aiming to flood the used car market in 2 years time as the previous R failed, overpriced, overvalued and just generally not worth it.

I went to view the R, which has way more spec as standard compared to the S3 but cloth seats, the sales man said I could test drive it after I bought it lol, after talking his deal wasn't bad but wasn't good, he also lied so many times I got fed up. After going to see the S3, well....nuff' said! The customer service was also excellent, within 60 seconds I was given the key to sit in and start the S3 up!

I chose black styling with sepang blue, finishes it off nicely. Why so much hate for it, in fact don't answer that I may end up crawling into a corner and worrying, we all want perfection with a new car:audibash:

@A3_Rider - Go with the spec YOU want. After all it is your car my friend :)

Personally, I prefer the chrome & I'm sticking with it ;)

What is it with VW sales staff, got the same treatment here in Australia. And went over to the Audi dealership, just a photocopy of your license, and away you go on the test drive by yourself.

I have test drove an RS4 Advant, a number of A4, A3 and many S3s.
 
As a Sepang SB owner, here is my 2p:

Go Chrome with silver or S3 alloys
Go Black pack if you go for the titanium look alloys

I went chrome.

S3 SB are fairly rare on the ground at the moment but I need see a Sepang SB, with a sunroof and black pack and star design wheels and it looked really good.

Our S3s downunder come standard with the S parallel spoke wheels, which would be my choice for the Sepang Blue with chrome.

Either way, nice cars
 
At least they spoke to you at VW, we went to look at a Golf GTD were there for 30 mins and didn't even get a hello just sat like muppets, ended up leaving and buying the A3 the next weekend
 
Standard VW by the sounds of it. I booked a test drive for a golf. Turned up, they got my name wrong, then when he got the car out to test drive it he said there wasn't any petrol in it so we couldn't go out in it. Safe to say I left almost straight away.
 
Yep - black pack and titanium alloys go together well. Either go stealth like this or bling with chrome and silver alloys.

You know what they used to say years ago about collars and cuffs matching.....

Looks good, but I think it needs the chrome instead of black pack - looks a tad more classy. Black pack better with black, grey or white IMHO.

I am also glad I have now gone for the pano - looks good above with sepang

What spec did you settle for in the end buddy?
 
Spec is as follows, organised finally last evening....

Sepang S3 Saloon (kept the chrome)
Stronic gearbox
Tech pack high ( no connect )
LED lights
Super sport seats
Interior light pack
Comfort pack with plus
B&O sound
Pano roof ( got more discount and )
Advanced key

I think that is all......... Delivery dec/jan

To all interested my spec in the end was:

3dr S tronic

Mythos black
black pack
privacy glass
interior light pack
lights and wipers
rear sensors
audi stereo upgrade
also black inlays
and half suede seats

So yeah in the end i swerved the sepang altogether. Lovely colour but i feel its a bit more racey than classy

To be fair, black and black pack is smart, I would have went black but current A4 is phantom black and needed a change/brighter and our z4 is white.

Your spec is very stealthy! Have you got a pic of mythos black in the flesh?
 
i havent seen a mythos i imagine its not much different to phantom?

itl be early november i think?
 
ok now it has changed to the same spec but in sepang blue! haha (with the black black after all!) :think:
 
I ended up taking black pack off. This is personal preference, the chrome makes it less aggressive, however seeing the black pack on a few S3s in Sepang now really makes it look menacing.

With or without its good!

My S3 in Sepang with BSP has just arrived in Australia picking it up in a couple of weeks (ordered in January!!!). Went for black pack as I also opted for the sunroof and thought it would contrast well with the black roof rails etc. Will post once I pick up. One of the first in Aus apparently....but all the dealers say that I reckon.

The first Sepang S3 bound for Australia was build week 21 or so, definitely yours would be one of the early ones in the system.

We ordered first week in Feb, was only built on the 19/7, currently in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, due to arrive in Port Kembla on the 28th of Sept.

Hey Longy

I remembered from earlier in the year we were chatting about our cars. Seems like a ****** lifetime waiting for this car. Mine arrived on 18th October into Phillips or something? I assume import agent. Now needs to be cleared, tint and paint protection (****** bats live near me). Shame we don't get Audi connect too in Aus. In the UK at the minute heading back next week so hopefully getting car on 6th September. Will post some pics upon asap.

I've changed my RS5 order from Sepang with chrome to Suzuka with black.

Been seeing more and more Sepang up this way and the more I see it the more I doubt whether I could live with it......
Lovely colour to look at, but I think would be a gamble for me as an ownership prospect.

Hi all, Please could someone tell me how this car has a chrome / silver section at the bottom of the front bumper? As you can probably tell I am new to the S3 (just awaiting build date) but really like this. As far as I can tell as standard they are colour coded on the bottom lip of the bumper.

Any help appreciated.

Hi & :welcome!: to ASN Nick!

All Uk hatchback and sportback S3's have a colour coded splitter whereas the S3 saloon has the silver one or black if you've spec'ed the black pack on the S3 saloon :thumbs up:
