Hi all, i need some extended locking wheel bolts to fit my 15mm spacers, to my knowledge the oem ones are m14 x 1.5 and 27mm long, with a radius (rounded) seat, is this right? ive searched the forum but noticed a few people recommending the conicle or tapered type and it got me wondering if my existing bolts are in fact original or not? also by checking other sites they suggest both? so just a double check really, thanks a lot, daz
 
I'm not sure what the standard bolts are,u think they are radius but don't quote me on that.

I free my 15mm spacers today funny enough.I know the thread on the extendes bolts are 45mm
 
Standard O/E Audi wheels are radius seat but aftermarket wheels have 60 degree taper but to confuse things more some aftermarket wheels are designed specifically for VAG cars so you can use your original wheel bolts and have radius seat.

The radius seat is the one on the left and the taper is the one on the right.

this is kind of my point. luckily the guy told me to use the original bolts as they are what i need on my new wheels so guess thats my question aswered. thanks for the help guys!! daz
 
Thread revival.

I am about to fit 15mm spacers on rear and/or front. Will 45mm bolts be too long? I gather the ideal length is 42mm (27mm + 15mm).
 
45mm will be fine, there's space behind the hub for much more than 3mm to protrude anyway.

Spin them once fitted before lowering to make sure nothing is catching.
 
should get away with it on the rear but watch the fronts as you could drive the bolt into the CV joint locking the wheel, damaging the bolt, potentially damaging the ABS ring, and ultimately damaging the threads in the drive flange when you take the bolt out
