Hi all,

I have spent hours googling this and can find nothing.

I have the yellow oil level sensor warning light coming up on the dash of my B7 S-Line. Its driving me nuts.

It came on months ago and i said "i will leave it until the service is due and replace the sensor".

I did this with a brand new genuine Audi Sensor and the warning is still there. I have personally and also had the wiring checked by a garage. It looked fine to me and the garage said its like new, nothing wrong with it at all.

I have had the error code deleted from my ECU which clears it for all of 1 minute. I dont know what to do.

Ive heard this can be a fuse issue which i have not yet checked.

Im mechanically disciplined and have NO electrical knowledge at all. I dont own a multimeter and have no idea about fuses.

Can you always or nearly always tell with a visual inspection if a fuse is blown?

Does anyone know of the fuse number that relates to this issue?

Any help or suggestions on what else to try would be very much appreciated as im ripping my hair out and going insane!

Thanks in advance, Kev.

I seem to remember reading about Audi replacing the dipstick on one model as they where having problems with oil lights. iirc the car needed more oil to make the light go out I will try and find the link for you but will send it via pm as its from another audi forum

Mine is the orange light with SENSOR written on it, not the red light with LOW LEVEL. Is this the same issue?

If there is an updated dipstick ill get it regardless, but i just want this problem resolved. :(

Does anybody know which fuse number is related to this, and where i can find it. In the end of the dash? None of the fuses named sound obviously like the one im looking for but i dont know how it will be termed.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry to be a complete novice but is the fuse box you speak of the one on the drivers side end of the dash?

I know of this one and the one under the drivers side wiper. Are there any others?

Ive heard people say they have one in the passenger side and drivers side of the dash but mine just has a drivers side.

I just tried removing fuse number 5 from mine and the warning light is still on. I really wouldn't mind disabling it as it's a pain in the butt, quite happy to just check dipstick once a week as it never uses any oil anyway.
