Blowout 75mph

I wonder if anyone can help.

I had a blowout on Sunday at 75mph and managed to come away with no damage to the alloy. I replaced the tyre after driving on the space saver for half a day. Unfortunately I've had to stick a part worn Michelin on there until Friday payday so I can replace with 2 same branded on the front as both tyres needed replacing in a few months anyway. My issue is that the handling has gone really bad. It pulls slightly and at times doesn't feel like the great handling it had before. When putting the spare on I had to kick the wheel a bit as it was rusted to the hub. Am I right in thinking the bad handling could be because different brand tyres on the front cause handling issues and I should get them both replaced and see what the handling is like or would you reccomend getting it tracked and aligned when I get the two new ones due to the blowout?

All replies appreciated in advance. I've never had a blowout it was quite scary but I managed to get it under control.

Thanks for the replies. Best thing to do is get the fronts replaced then see what it's like I reckon. Just hate how I'm gonna have to drive it handling like this.

Always amazes me how some people seem to skimp on tyres. After suffering a blowout I'd be making damn sure decent tyres were going back on and not part worns.
I'd be interested to hear the cause of the blowout. At least you and the car are okay as sometimes blowouts can be quite nasty.
I've just replaced all four tyres on our S3 (as that is what the manual recommends) and put on like for like ContiSport 5's as these are the only things between my 1.5 tonne vehicle and the road!!

Don't be amazed fella. As I've indicated the part worn was only on for 4 days. I had to put something on as I didn't want to drive around on the space saver. Part worn is a much better risk than a space saver for 4 days.

The cause of the blowout was simple. The hole was directly next to a screw Mark on the tire. I'm guessing the heat expanded the air which increased tire pressure on the motorway and it has popped the screw out at speed and then ran over it or something like that. The screw is relevant. I got a great price on the same Pirelli p7 cinurato that were already on it even though eagle f1 were on offer I stool to the same brand all round.

I'm fine and after having both new pirellis on the front and tracking done (which was quite a way out by 4mm on the blowout wheel) the car now handles like it should.

I don't know what your post meant but rest assured I do not cut costs on tires, and my post explains why the part worn was on there and also asking for advice re the handling.
