bit of an odd one today, got my self a all singing and dancing steering set. highline 'Q' module with multifuncion slip ring and Dis stalk. for a bargain price of £40
i fitted the cruise stalk about a year ago befrore i knew about the module differences, and wasnt going to just splash out another £60-£80 on just a module for it so been playing the waiting game.
Also picked up something i wanted to do an experiment with following this thread
http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/thread...les-and-slip-rings-the-same-as-d3-a8s.227689/
another fully dancing steering set up with multifunction slip ring, cruise, and dis but has a slightly different part number as its from a C6 A6, but look the same
so with all my bits a had a good strip down
oh ****** number 1, the 6 pin and 12 pin slip ring all look the same..... but as it turns out the plugs are different shape when side by side
so the idea of adding the the pins into the same place as a s4 paddle shift and coding it it in is now out.
but as it turns out after studding what the functions and wiring diagrams actually do i only need 2 extra outputs to get the tiptronic to work as i can nick the ign live and earth from the horn. and add the two signal wires down to the gear stick running through the two spare airbag wires not used in the B6 squib.
so anyway removed my poverty 'F' module and fitted the 'Q' highline module and put it back together
and got an aray of christmas tree lights, along with no rear wiper working.
so plugged in the vagcom, ran a scan and got a ton of fault codes, the steering module was coded for full multifunction and with radio and voice controls, modules not commincating etc, so started the coding process, activated - sport steering wheel - cruise control - trip computer - rear wiper. re calibrated the G85 sensor, wiped all the codes and.........................
the only one left is ABS - 01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded. i havnt touched anything to do with the ABS?? its the only fault i have and everything else now works, cruise control now works, trip computers fine, rear wiper works but still got the abs message up
i've followed the RossTech guide on coding the coding the ABS module but doesnt change anything
its strange! its a proper A4 highline module 8E0953549Q.
if noones got any suggestions i guess ill have to put my 'F' module back in and see if it goes away.
