Has it had a clutch in it's life? If not then expect it to go after having it mapped. Also the coil packs are another common failure post remap.

Don't let the milage put you off however - and for £300 it's well worth the money.

Where abouts are you?

sorry i was asking if you knew off a good remap to get for 300 pound give or take abit, my bad, i work in north yorkshire but live in near doncaster so could get it done anywhere near them,
i was expecting the clutch to go but thought i would remapp it first then see if it slipped, i need to check all the receits to see if it has been done

thanks

Everyone says this about mapped cars and clutch's go soon after - proves my point there is no such thing as a carefully driven 'chipped' car. Especially when I read those adverts about all the performance upgardes and then state carefullly driven in the same sentence.....give me a break !

I would recommend R-Tech having been up there for a mates S3.
Great service, got before and after rolling road print outs, geniuine advice and loads of tests and checks to ensure everything was in tact before the map! And the price - 250quid all in! Can't go better than that and I haven't heard a bad word against them!

For 300 pound go to shark performance :/

I'll get my coat

i live neare scunthorpe do you kno were the nearest custom code dealer is?

hi thanks been on there website and theres a custom code dealer clost to me but on there website it says £380 plus vat, is that a old price or is there a special offer on thanks

sorry to jump in on your thread mate but does any one know a good place to get my s3 mapped, i live in scotland in fife. iv heard of Star performace but not sure thanks

CC have a 30% discount, so you take their advertised website price, less 30% add vat and you have the correct price.
confusing i know, but thats how they do it

Has anyone used the CC service where they send you the flash wire cable through the post?

Can't really help on this but I wouldn't advise using a generic map on the S3 if thats what your referring too?

I have a 2000 S3 and took it to Rtech who spent hours mapping the car to safe levels and produced really good results.. 210bhp and 212ft/lbs to 254bhp and 274ft/lbs.

My car had no leaks whatsoever and they said was one of a rare few that had come to them 100% healthy.

3 weeks later the coilpacks went.

Basically if your going to spend £250-£300 on a remap take it to someone who knows the engine inside out as it'll only highlight other possible weaknesses in the car.

Have had my APY S3 since 2009 and bought at 62,000 miles had it remapped (Superchips) and the clutch needed to be done shortly after, its now got 160,000 miles and runs beautifully still and the clutch seems fine still. The key is good quality oil changed regularly and proper servicing and they will go on and on, many on here have 200,000 Plus miles and are fine. It's definite a much better drive remapped. Badger 5 TIP also a very effective upgrade too.

I've had revo stage one, the car was fine before the map, after having it mapped the clutch started slipping in 6th so at the end of the day it must have been close to the end of its life! But I rate my revo map

Been looking into these as well and comparing the Revo map to the Custom Code. Seems the Revo is far more aggressive whereas the CC is more progressive/linear in power delivery. I'm yet to read anythin bad about CC whereas Revo there's been some negative but like others I guess this comes down to the car rather than map.
Does anyone have any opinions or experiences on either of these? I don't drive the car too hard so was thinkin Revo though bit worries the aggressive map may be damaging to the car.

My local revo dealer quoted me 350 plus vat. Sounds ****** expensive.. I'm looking around for something cheaper but at the same time I want something good..

Spoke to AMD today in Essex they told me they are no longer a Revo dealer. Bit surprised on that 1.
