The previous owner tried to paint the calipers, I want to completely strip them down of all paint and have them done properly, I've read different posts sandblasting, paint stripper, brake fluid, whats the best way ? Anyone else done this or know where I can go I'm in Doncaster thanks

if you have a compressor I have a new gun and grit for sale......im in Doncaster too.
if you haven't i'd give paint stripper a go.

Just had this quote Image Image Image

No I don't have any tools or compressors I was going to look to see how much they go for but not found any

I have use of a sandblasting machine if that helps?

I have never used one lol would have to do some YouTube studying, u used it before Andy ? On anything like calipers

We have one at my works, yes I've sandblasted many different things, as long as the calipers were stripped down to basics with no seals or perishables in them I can't see them being a problem.

Right might look into it, thanks Andy will be nice to learn how to fully strip my calipers just in case I need to replace any thing, will have a look Wolf handy in Doncaster too

No problem. I can sandblast most stuff as long as it's stripped down :)

I was going to say you have to be careful with the calipers, they'll be ******** if you sandblast the bore that the piston goes in.
Personally i'd try paint stripper and a wire brush on the visible parts (or try bead blasting rather than sand blasting)

If you have thick gloves on, sand blasting them a bit gets them quite hot inside on your skin so I cant imagine it'd be doing the seals any good if you left the pistons in - you could mask them off and try and avoid the section though!
