Doing some internet reading on small engine mods for a 1.8 non-turbo A4, and came across a thread which mention the inlet manifold flap rod and that these quite often break which can lead to a drop in performance. Having been made curious I thought I'd check mine out and as expected it was broken. I've managed to reattach the rod to the flap through the trusty tie wrap, seems to have worked.

Has anyone experienced this before and if so is the whole assembly easy to change? From initial inspection it seems that there are 2 screws that attach the assembly to the inlet manifold.

Cheers.

I believe it's called the drive unit VAG number 06B 133 619 A.

Going to try a DIY repair first and if all else fails find a 2nd hand one.
