My car is starting to make a funny sound from the break disc area on the passenger side when I'm not even breaking .. Took the pads out and noticed on the inside of the disc there is a massive grove and the pad has uneven wear .. Could this make the binding sound that I'm hearing ??

Cailper Is only a year old and pins are all clean and copper slipped

Put new clips on yesurday .. As the break pad is not flat on the inside I'm pretty sure it's that making the noise . Discs and pads came from euro car farts.. I've had a few things from them now and are ment to be vag items but there no where near the same .. Gonna buy my parts from audi from now on

I had pagid pads from ecp and they were a tight fit,the pads squealed so i changed them for another set, they slipped in comfortably and now no more squeals.

You might have hit the nail on the head there

Can a heavily grooved disc make the break pads bind

Gordy how much were the clips just out of curiosity?

I used ECP pads and discs on the rear and had no problems
Just my fronts squeal bad but I haven't changed them since I've had the car in 3 years and they've still got loads of life left in them

Just had a good look at my breaks and I think I've found out what's wrong the inside egde of the disc has a rusty lip around it and the pad is just hanging over so I'm thinking the sound is coming from there so out with the grinder tomorrow and shave the pad a little

Mine are 312mm so 25 quid sounds very cheap

Well had all
The breaks striped down today cleaned them all up piston pushed in very easy so it isn't stuck one thing I did find was when I rotated the wheel just at one point it made a sound so guess the disc is warped I need new discs anyway cos of the grove it them

My mate has an account at euro car farts discs and pads came to 77 quid all in pagid

Took car out this morning only to find out there still making a catching sound so stripped em down checked piston and there's no rust but what I did forget to do is copper slip the slider pins they where bone dry .. Not been for drive yet but I'm sure I found the problem this time

Don't put copper slip on the sliding pins, there is a special lubricant that should be put there, best to leave them dry than use copper slip...

Copper slip has now been replaced with some proper break grease

Well took car out after swoping over the grease on slider pins and no
More binding

Good to here mate
I'm going to sort my squeak out this week, I think the pads are too right against the carriers so might just need to grind a tiny bit out
