Wow! That is/could be great news, John... :uk:

Using the link I find they're still NOT showing REDSTUFF for the RS3 mind so maybe EBC haven't taken it on board yet...:uhm:

It's a shame they didn't acknowledge that the redstuff pad we are using will actually fit the RS 3 !!

When I rang them (twice) both times they insisted the pad number we were using wouldn't fit the RS3 Brembo Caliper ! Even though the pad size is more or less identical to the crap OEM pads.

I did also point out that there is a market here for producing the correct pad for the RS3 and TTRS.

The second time they pointed me in the direction of a yellow stuff pad even though I was successfully using the redstuff.

Seems they haven't had ears on the ground for a few years.

Don't worry ASN will educate them.

As for Yellowstuff I spit on the ground for its revolting amount of brake dust.

OK so almost 700 miles on the red stuff and all good, still no squeal.

Just purchased some yellow stuff for my track day next week. Gonna fit them later on today.
Will let you all know how I get on.

I've been trying to educate people on TTOC about the red stuff pads but its as if people think I'm making it up.... Funny lot over there, think I'll stick to this forum instead as peeps seem way more friendly and un-egotistical.

Cheers for everything.

Well at least your on the right forum, it's been suggested elsewhere that all we talk about on here is squealing brakes :kissmyrings:

Yes this is defo the best forum for actually knowledge unlike some others.

Thing is I would be in an rs3 right now if only manual was an option but I digress...!

Anyroad here's some pointless pics of the yellow stuff installed. I love how easy and quick it is to change the pads on the rs3 / ttrs. Beautiful simplistic engineering.

Oh and a just for fun, an even more pointless pic of my 4.6 big block nitro monster truck.

No Denty Not pointless at all !

Its good that other members show what solutions they have put in place, especially when Audi are still scratching their heads to cure the RS 3 problems.......

Keep us informed if you will how you get on with the Yellowstuff pads.

Hey, Denty; how'd you get on with the YELLOWSTUFF?
How do they compare with the REDSTUFF: bite, dust, cold braking, pad warm-up, fade, etc?
In anticipation...

I was very impressed with the redstuff pads a Curbrough last weekend, If I was still running the standard Mintex I know I would have got a load of vibration like a warped disc due to pad pick up as it's operating outside it's normal range.
As it was no problem and hardly any dust. I know it's a short lap but the brakes get little chance to cool.
I had yellowstuff pads on my Passat, they were good but the dust was immense when giving the car a bit of a workout.
They were like OE pads when cold and I ran them all the time including through the winter.

The only problem I've had with red stuff, is that they lasted less than 1500miles on my car. Worked well indeed, but just didn't last.

Um, driving styles can be special. For the track they are not.

Not sure which year and version this, but mine took 1500 miles just to bed.

Just ordered these for the TT on your recommendations. I'll see how i get on and help educate the TTOC. :)

I nearly fell off the chair when i got a price from Audi for the oem pads. Ha ha ha.

Also give TPS (trade parts specialist) a try for anything OEM I used them for everything for our 'new' 3.2 TT.

I'm betting you'll be shouting oh yea! within a mile or two; and then you'll be adding REDSTUFF to the rears, too... :racer:

2700miles now, amrb1, with REDSTUFF front and rear; they're just perfect with: short pedal, low dust, no noise, and lots of low and high speed bite in both wet and dry conditions. Perfect balance on ALL 4-brakes during recent AUDI garage MOT, too.

Over 4000 miles on mine now, no squeal/noise and loads of material still left.....

Christ what are you doing to only get 1500 miles out of them ???

8-months now on REDSTUFF (front and rear) and I'm thinking they're more sympathetic to the brake disc than the Audi original pre-47i6 and/or 47i6 replacement Audi/Brembo/Pagid brake pads.

I see NO issues on the brake disc friction surface - unlike others that have reported "I have a friend that fitted 'em to a... whatever" so I'm back to "what's not to like". :readit:

CANNOT fault EBC REDSTUFF for road-use with our Audi RS3. I just can't fault 'em...

BLUEY has been doing a 60-mile return run up and down the A51 and A34 to Stoke-on-Trent in these -2 to +2ºC temperatures, John; and her REDSTUFF brakes and Vredestein Wintrac Xtream tyres have been just 100% perfect for these snow/slush/frost/ice covered road conditions with lots of traffic islands to negotiate.

As for the REDSTUFF: I've a set of 'different' rear brake discs being delivered tomorrow (just playing...) and both brake discs will be first protected with POR15 'clear' and then installed with a nice new set of REDSTUFF brake pads to ensure proper pad-to-disc fit; we'll then evaluate and report in due course...

Still cannot fault the REDSTUFF for a road going RS3 in any of the weather conditions we've experienced so far.

And NOT a single squeal, we like 'em!
:racer:

what the redstuff pads like from cold and town driving i.e. the misses driving lol

I agree with Gazwould "No different or better than oe." that she'll find them just fine but would add 'a much better brake pedal'.

I still do drive other RS3s on OEM brake pads and know which I prefer to 'normal' and 'fast road' use.

BUT again, REDSTUFF didn't suit our Mk2 TT so that went back to OEM pads...

As John (45bvtc) knows I used to have terrible squeal even after 2 complete 47i6 updates but since changing to Redstuff front & rear I've had no noise and hardly any brake dust since
The disc faces are perfect and show little signs of wear after 5000 miles.

The pads perform excellent in ALL weather conditions.

My advice...... Get them....Get them now....

I think I'll be picking up a set of these Redstuff for my RS3 next week for every day driving, my freshly replaced under warranty pads are making a bit of a mess of my new discs already after just 2000miles, not to mention the dust and average bite. Pleased to say there's no squeal though so that's good.

Cheers for the info on these that they fit, I did previously run a set of redstuff on another car years ago and was not that impressed but that was an entirely different compound and on the basis of this thread I think I'll defo give them another shot. Would anyone by any chance have lying around an old wear sensor plug from an old set of pads that they would be willing to part with? I'd like to keep my OE pads in case I need to go back to Audi for further warranty work on the brakes at any point, I gather they void the brake warranty if you use any pads other than OEM!?

Pick up a cheap one from Eurocarparts for @ £4 if you can't get an old one from a forum member. They are good enough you chop up to make a loop back plug to disable the warning on the DIS.
