I was getting a bit fed up of the rusty looking brake calipers. So decided to give them a paint. I was unsure what colour to go for but in the end I went for graphite grey. Got the paint kit off flee bay for ?£17 with delivery. With the kit you got cleaner, paint and a brush. Got some Quattro decals for the calipers again off flee bay. Just did the fronts this morning and I'm pleased with the out come. What do you think??

I still have the rears to do,should I put the Quattro decal on the rear like the front but smaller or leave them plain I'm undecided ??

Did the rears today. Did inside of the disc after the picture. I'm hoping the decals will last a few years. They are very good quality.

Nice job, really makes a difference. Any chance you can post the ebay link for paint kit?
Cheers

That looks great Hilly
Could do with doing mine/ stone guards and hubs also.
Mine makes my wheels look naff!

I just bought some satin black engine paint for my XT500, going to use the left over paint for my calipers.
I also have some silver so I will do my stone guards ;)

Great job mate look amazing! just shows what a little hard work can achieve

I did the hubs just not the stone guards. I was in two minds wether to do the stone guards ,like zafi I think the stone guards would look better in silver. For anybody who is going to do it,all I would say is you need very little paint on the bush and I mean little you don't want drips.

Thank you , my bad , info 6 posts away.

Hammerite smooth mixed with a drop of Single Malt Whisky does wonders :D

Bit of a tread revival .

I like the grey calipers and you have a good chance between the spokes of keeping them presentable .

However I've never seen the point of doing disc guards and hubs silver , they aren't attractive and will highlight the brake dust and eventually become black anyway , so I paint mine with black Smooth Hammerite.

Look at the silver brakes that distract from the pleasant design of the alloy wheel.

Anyone with a black car painted theirs?
Unsure what colour calipers would look best.
Any idea appreciated

My cars black with black alloys and scruffy red calipers. They stand out hopefully for the right reasons once theyv'e been freshened up

I used black hammerite smooth on the callipers and silver on the disk protectors and hubs

I just gave them a good clean with citrus cleaner first then a stiff brush.

Stickers were a couple of quid from eBay... Came with various sizes so had smaller ones for back (although not applied those yet)
