Hey. New to here and I'm looking to get an A4 estate 2.0tfsi. When I eventually get one I'd be wanting to get a Revo remap for it and read that the original diverter valves have a pretty weak diaphragm., so I was thinking of upgrading the OEM one at the same time as the remap.

I have had a look about but unsure what to look for regarding getting an upgraded DV. Are there any that offer some atmospheric noise? I saw on the forge site that there's an adapter you can buy, here http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&cat=010303&product=FMDV14T

Also regarding the DV itself. Am I right in reading that some people have upgraded to the newer DV from the more recent models to stop this splitting diaphragm problem or is it better to get one of the expensive forge kits. Also will any of these bring up any error codes?

I'm wanting to upgrade the DV because of the Remap. also thinking along the lines of a front mounted intercooler along with intake system and nice subtle exhaust, nothing too loud. Just something to give it a bit more grunt.

Any help would be appreciated on what to get and where to get them. Also with the B7 2.0tfsi engine are there any problems apart from the DV that I should look out for. I don;t want to go doing all this with a dodgy engine.

Cheers.

Hey there and welcome,

For stage one you dont need to waste money on a forge. Your best bet would be to go to the uprated DV from Audi/Tps. They are more than ample for up to 280/300hp. They dont make much of a noise but you could buy a forge spacer but to be quite frank no point really unless you just want the noise. Also depending on the year of your estate will depend if it has the uprated DV or not. None of the Dv will cause a error code unless you didnt install it correctly which is very unlikely.

As for a front mount I wouldnt worry about that for a stage 1 the stock coolers can run fine. Unless you have a single cooler. I would suggest a decent dry aftermarket air filter something in the likes of a BMC air filter. Just to help the turbo breathe.

Regarding engine issues to look out for, well there is a few. But depends on mileage and age of the vehicle as well as its service life and what oil etc.

Cheers. I saw Revo do a stage 2 and 2+ for the B7 2.0tfsi. The stage 2 only needs exhaust and decent cold air intake. No mention about any other parts unless you go for the 2+ which needs better fueling. I won't be going that far with it so might only get stage two at the most because it's achievable with simple bolt on parts. I'm not going to go mental with this car, just want that little extra than standard but still keeping some mpg lol.

Most of the ones that are coming up within budget are about 60k (all seem to be about there) and just had cam belts done. Full service history.

Topics about the 2.0tfsi engine don't seem to be as popular as the tdi problems so I'm going round and round in circles lol

Agree with Giosabcsl ..stage 1 will be more than fine with a good healthy clutch and upgraded vag dv. You will notice the difference with a good remap from a reputable company. Once you have had a taste of that.....that's when your wallet will start to get lighter.....so will it be suspension mods or a good breathable exhaust with a race cat?..........then from there you are on to stage 2 malarkey.....fet the remap first......and keep us posted.

Fitted a 034 motorsport cat today ,works well pulls stronger plus added a slightly more aggressive note to my milltek res system and st2 revo.Stick to recirc valve ,i would bother with a atomosp spacer. Its designed to recirc so why change it.

Andy, I thought you were ditching the Milltek exhaust.....did you decide to keep it afterall?

Let me get this right...you originally ordered a Stasis unresonated....then got rid of that and got a Milltek resonated instead. Posted any vids of it in action. Be keen to know what it sounds like.

I originally ordered what i thought was a statis touring system which the ad described as not boomy etc,but was sent their challenge (race )system which seemed to be louder(higher flowing) back boxes by mistake and was stupidly loud /boomy.I was not able to get it swapped for the quieter version but had a milltek off the same supplier and paid the difference.

Thanks....saw the clips....certainly sounds a bit more throaty but difficult to get the full vibe via YT.
