Hi guys I'm wanting to buy a badger 5 TIP. I know the v2.2 has the billet adapter whereas the v3 is a straight fit on and the newer version? What would people go for, as I've seen mixed answers from people

Cheers

The v2.2 remains the premier version. It's the best engineered solution and offers the best gains.

I think the v3 was produced as a lower cost alternative after the design was copied and simplified to make it cheaper by other companies.

The v2.2 remains the best, and is the one to to go for if you can afford it.

If money is tight, the v3 is still a great product.

Ok thanks for help, just wasn't too sure because of the mix in answers.

If the v2.2 is better then that's what I will I for, I mean it's like £20more as you don't have to pay for postage... So will be worth getting it.

Is it harder/easier to fit the v2.2?

Think the v3 installation will be less hassle especially if your no Ed China

I've got the V2.2 and it's easy to fit if using the right technique.

First time I fitted the tip took me ages whilst cutting up my arms, I've refitted it since and it took 30mins, which is a big improvement !

Take top of the air box off first to give yourself more space, no need to completely remove.

Fit the billet adaptor onto the bottom of the tip first and then push onto the turbo, when you fit the billet into the tip make sure the grub screw is in a position where you can get to it easy with your Allen key once on the turbo.

Have a short and a long flat/Phillips depending on hose clips handy.

Not a very useful comment maybe, but it's the original v1 for me!

V2.2 here and very pleased with it. I prefer having the billet adapter and it definitely looks the part. Personal preference i guess tho.
Here is how the b5 adapter sits on mine.

I've got a V2.2 and it's great. Can't comment on fitting as bill did it for me when I was getting my car mapped.

ok, thanks so far for the comments, by the looks of it and the price difference not being much I will also join the crew and go for a v2.2

versions.. lol

v1 (3") in esp and non esp (extra bits)
V2 in esp and non esp
V2.2 in esp and non esp
V3 in esp and non esp... technically this also had 2 versions as I added a flex bump in the tip to allow for engine movement..

Image That's a funny looking badger5 tip lol, Mr bill @badger5 Saw this on fb yesterday and thought I would let you know, unless it is one of yours which I doubt

I have badger 5 tip v 2.2 but not installing it yet . Will install just before a remap but what if i was to install earlier without a map And map it in summer is it safe to do so and what are pro n cons fitting without a map thanks guys

yeh it will be fine to do so
you will gain from it but a map will offer better gains.
go custom map to get best results
do everything hardware wise you want first.
if your going generic map it wont matter before or after but your tip wont be as effective as it can be with a custom map

id do it just before the map so you get a bigger bang for your buck

Abit cheesy as I havnt had a shower yet Daz lol, and ahh I didn't realise he didn't make them from silicone all the time never seen a v1 before mybadd lol they have came along way

soz bud was teasing! :)

Yes i will be having a custom map wheres best place for it and roughly how much? . Also is it ok to ask on here ..... had my ball joints replaced and then tracking done and car is still pulling to the left so i have to keep my steering to the right a touch to.keep it straight . Took back to link tyres to recheck and they said everything is bang on as manufacture requires . Car is in stock form stock wheels ect

best places are bill at badger 5 and r tech
obviously depends where you are located mate
as for your other question either search it or id start another thread
