Hi All,

Only had the S3 a few weeks and now I've found the downpipe is blowing from the flexi next to the silencer.

How much roughly is it to replace the standard downpipe? Warranty will only cover £500...

I'm seeing a lot of info regarding BCS exhausts, I'm guessing they are a lot more than £500 haha?

Thanks!

Pipewerx do a 3" downpipe with decat fitted for £375 if you want to upgrade, connects to standard cat back too.

I'd do this in your situation, then pay £50 to upgrade your revo stage 1 to stage 2

Really don't like the idea of running a decat, pain in the *** come MOT time as there are no friendly garages around my way :(

BCS down pipe and sports CAT is 600, fits to standard rear section with supplied adapter

Is that £600 fitted? The warranty company will only pay if the price is competitive.. that's the worry. To be honest i'm shocked they are paying at all, I thought exhaust would come under general wear and tear.

Just supply, you would be best ringing Nigel at BCS for a quote, they are highly rated by lots of users here, higher quality and better service than other suppliers.

What about sourcing a 2nd hand system? check the classifieds

They do a sports cat option at Pipewerx, which will be extra £475-500, not 100% on price as I didnt ask, just going of these prices on their website.

Knew it was too good to be true. Warranty company only prepared to pay £100 - 150 to have the car repaired, otherwise it's gotta go back there for them to 'repair' the exhaust. Got a quote from powerflex for £150 to chop the old exhaust and weld in a new flexi :( was really hoping this warranty was going to be a really cheap way to Stage 2!

Is it third party warranty, if so they most suck at paying out.

No, one I got from the garage.. but I'm not having much luck with the garage at all to be honest. Paid for tax that never turned up, Logbook was never sent off to DVLA so I've gotta apply for that. It's a good job I love the car!
