Hi Guys,

Well my insurance runs out on the 24th of this month and unfortunately i cant afford the renewal just yet. So what i have decided to do is keep it off the road for a few months and replace/uprate a few bits and bobs.

I'm unsure whether to go BBT K04 Hybrid or just stick a new BBT K04 along with a few other mods.
If i was to take the BBT K04 Hybrid route these are the bits i would be getting...

My current mods are
  • 3 inch downpipe to 2.75 at centre
  • A and H fabs Intercooler V2
  • IE Forged rods
  • SFS TIP
  • S2K Air Filter
  • Forge Recirc Valve
Mods if i was to go down the Hybrid Route:
  • New full 3 inch echaust (not a fan of the current one)
  • Relentless V3 manifold
  • K04 hybrid from BBT
  • Bosch ev14 injectors (i believe they are the correct ones, please correct me if im wrong)
  • uprated clutch and fly, ill be sticking to dual mass. seen loads of people on here have been doing that and haent had any problems
  • Badger 5 TIP and Jetex cone filter
  • Polybush as much as i can
  • Fuel Pump, still doing research on which one to use
  • a boost gauge
  • Possibly new pistons as piston 1 isnt the best
  • A set of 4 pot brakes (undecided which ones)

Mods if i was to go down K04 renewal route:

  • Uprated clutch and flywheel
  • K04 BBT Turbo with uprated actuator
  • Relentless V3 manifold
  • New fuel pump
  • badger 5 TIP
Just to make you all aware the car had a full head rebuikld a few weeks ago so the engine itself is in good condition and is nice and smooth.

I'm only 19 so my knowledge on all of this isnt ridculously good but ive been doing research on all parts for a while now and ive decided ill start buying parts. so felt a build thread would be a good way of keeping it all together. If anyone has had experience with any of the parts named above and has problems or even if they have had none at all please feel free to shed some light on it. If you also feel that i am missing some part feel free to say!

Hope you enjoy this thread as it comes together, im certainly looking forawrd to it no matter which route i take :p

Thanks

Joe

hi mate, will be looking forward to this. seen you been trying to sell this car a few times? also like a few of your pics on instagram, looks good

Nice to see you starting up a thread mate! Will be keeping an eye on this. Uprating the turbo is on my list for next year so interested to see what route you go. Im hoping you have kept hold of the rotas! Are you going to Audi driver international at castle coombe by any chance?

Hi James, yes i had been. and everytime someone showed interest i just couldn't bring my self to selling it! so just taking a small sarafice of not being able to use it for while to be able to keep it :)

Cheers adam it has been long awaited :') If i uprate the turbo it wont b back on the road until about april time! Which will be ifficult for me as i do really need the car! BUT it would be worth it imo! i have kept the rotas indeed! they'll be having a new set of tyres before its back on the road too! When is it? im definetly up for going there!

Mine was off the road for a couple of months during the rebuild but it was definitely worth it! I did have the use of a company car tho which made it easier. Many people have said top of the range stage 2 with a good map from bill is a good place to be with our cars whilst you collect hybrid parts or BT parts. I will definitely be upgrading my brakes before hybrid or BT that's for sure! The stock ones are pants in my opinion even with ebc red stuff pads i find them tame.

It on Saturday the 11th of October, think there is a organized thread on here somewhere but me and a mate are heading down for a ganders if the weather is good. Here is a link to the official site:

Sorry Adam i didn't see your reply! I think i'll go down to audi driver international as i have use of my mums car now!
Bit of an update, too. Its all very slow progress but it'll be worth the wait i feel. I've decided i'm going to use this Clutch and Flywheel :

And the DA-13 inline fuel pump:

Thats cool mate no worries, will have to meet up when there.
Just a quick bit of advise on the clutch you linked above, loads of issues with that on here mate. There products, what you get sent, fitment, etc etc. Have a search on here, i would personally steer clear. 16Klappe had issues recently maybe send him a pm.
I went for the CG Motorsport stage 2 clutch or others run a paddle clutch plate.

Yeah definitely man!
So would a standard flywheel and one of these clutches be a reasonable combination would you say?

Yeah, Im running the standard LUK dmf and the cg Motorsport stage 2 clutch and its great. Done 1000k miles nice and light like oem but very grippy when launching. Each to there own on clutches but is dependant on what power your going for. This clutch is good for top end stage 2. Basically if your going bigger turbo maybe look at something else staying ko4 get this setup.

not much progress atm.

But i have ordered this boost gauge:

http://www.awesomegti.com/car/audi/s38l/turbosmart-30psi-boost-gauge-52mm

And a badger 5 V3 TIP.

My current turbo has a bit of play side to side. fine in and out though. BUT im insuring the car this week at a decent cost of 1160 (good for my age)

This means i will be going to ADI Adam so i shall see you there hopefully! its all very slow atm but things will start adding up slowly.

If it breaks, I have no car haha! And I can't afford that!

Well, so much for a build thread!

I have finally sold the car!

it sold for 3800 pound with out the rota grid drifts, i then sold the wheels for 650. which i was happy with!

I'm no hopefully getting something this week with 2 extra cylinders a an extra turbo! any guesses anyone?

Hmm, what a shame :) I really liked what you did with the car, was one of the nicest around here..

I hope you'll get an Audi tho, S4, RS4 B5..or BMW 335i?

its only a guess, I may have read a few things on instagram about wanting an s4 =) let me know how well they are as I have been looking at them for the past few months

It's noggy blue, but it's not on ch's! I love the sound of them!

Nice one Joe! Good luck with the s4! Is the a link to the advert? Will look forward to seeing a welcome post on Srs!

If this was the case then why did they send them back to you?
They made no attempt at redelivering the breaks.
I had no chance to call UPS as before I knew it you were telling me that they were resending them back to you. Remember you said wait for to see if they come back to you. Which I did then you left it at that until I contacted you. Refund me my money less the £8 delivery and let's be done with it. Thanks
