Hi guys

Trying to diagnose this without vagcom, picked up a 2007 audi tt mk2 with factory bluetooth and it worked for a few days. Then without warning my phone lost connection to it and no matter how many times I tried it wouldn't reconnect it was if the phone couldn't find the audi to connect to.

I tried deleting the saved entry for the car in my phone but now it cant find the car. I have restarted the phone and tried with a completely different one - neither can find it. When I press the mode or voice control buttons on the steering wheel nothing happens. The two scrolling ones still work though.

Ive been doing a bit of googling and I can't find a process for resetting the bluetooth, and it doesn't sound unheard of for the factory bluetooth to fail requiring a new module.

Bought the car from a ford dealer of all things so whilst I will push back on them I already doubt I will have any joy extracting a fix from them.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Appreciated in advance 😊

Pull the fuse for the telephone module leave it a while and plug back in. If it's still dead then you will need a new module.

It's very nearly my own experience in my 2008 A3!
I've only owned it for under two weeks and the blue tooth worked... Then one day nothing. The "Mode" key and the "speak" key on the steering wheel don't do anything (except bringing back the stereo on from mute, but the "mode" won't change the display on the main console or show me the phone menu etc, and the speak button no longer allows me to speak a command)...

Have you had any luck?

Spooky, just bought a 2008 A3, first few days the bluetooth worked flawlessly, now I have the same symptoms. Steering wheel buttons don't do anything (toggle buttons still work for volume and changing channel) and no sign of a bluetooth signal.

Anyone managed to make any progress? I was trying to work out the fuse for the bluetooth. Phone prep seems to be fuse 47 in the door pillar fuse box, is there another fuse for the blue tooth module?

The known faulty module was 8P0 862 335 K (SW 0340) model year 2008, this module was replaced with 8P0 862 335 Q (0350) The only fix is to replace the module, the only thing pulling the fuse will do is stop your battery from draining.

B5NUT cheers, yeah I read about the issue with a faulty module causing battery drain but to be honest, mine doesn't seem to be suffering with that, I was just wanting to check the fuse to see if A it had blown or B if the module had locked up in some way.

Trying to sort out the same problem. Fuse 47 is labeled "Mobile Telephone / Digital Tuner". Pulling the fuse doesn't disable the radio tuner nor the "Telephone is Not Available" message. What DOES it do?

(Besides keep the battery from draining)
