Hi everyone was wondering if anyone has a scanner around the northwest Manchester/Liverpool area. I want to scan my car to see if there is any problems plus I need to reset my service indicator because it's due in about 10 days. I have a 2.0l tdi 2010 I am happy to pay someone to do it and happy to drive to you.

To reset your service indicator just pull the right Toggle on clocks out when starting your car and hold for 10 secs this will reset it to 365 days/9000 miles
 
O right thanks mate I'll do it this morning then still wouldn't mind if there is someone with a scanner tho I've had the car few months and would like it scanning see if there is any faults the stop start isn't working I'm not bothered but there maybe others that need clearing.
 
Tried to reset my service it wouldn't do it ? Do I need to let it run out first?
 
I've also tried this reset as stated in the cars log and it doesn't work for me either! A little annoying as I used a fairly cheap scan tool which wrongly set it to 1400 miles haha! Interested to know why this won't work/how to make it work!
 
I would also like to know why it won't work ha I've tried it a few times it reset my oil but not the service. Any help would be great. Thank

I actually got this to work yesterday, don't know how you lads have tried it but from memory the book implies to just switch the ignition on, which I did, but this time I actually started the engine and just held the reset stalk out - was definitely longer than 10 seconds also but eventually it resets (by showing dashes for a moment)
 
Was you pulling it out while turning the key and starting the engine ? Or pulled it out after u had started it. I pulled it while starting the car with my other hand but it didn't work.

No, started the engine and when it fired pulled the stalk - you don't have to be lightning quick with it or anything just soon after it starts (it will display the wrench icon for quite a while anyway)
 
Ok thanks I'll try it again later once I've finished work hopefully it will work.
 
Still can't seem to reset it anymore ideas ? I can reset my oil indicator but not the service
