Hello,

Fitted my new intake the other day and I noticed a slight blowing from my exhaust on the down pipe right next to the turbo I thought this may have been the gasket leaking on the flange from the turbo........I was so wrong.......:(
Had it up on the ramp at my mates garage, and found the fault a nice crack found on the downpipe Pictures to be added tomorrow when removed.

I was under the assumption that my S3 had a full milltek from the turbo back, Well I was wrong it was some made up system to the rear box box which is Milltek.........So no wonder why it cracked.

Anyway ill add the pictures tomorrow when I have removed the old downpipe and fitted the new Milltek system.......:)

Heres the picture of the milltek as received today, from Revolution motorsport in Gateshead.

I'm using my mates ramp tomorrow to fit it hopefully it'll fit perfect

Only question I have is what is this.

Once again cheers for the Help in advance.

Dan

Front lower engine mount (think that's the name) insert to reduce engine movement as Millteks were cracking frequently so they include this as part of the fitting kit.

Undo bolt apply lubrication which I think is included and insert before torquing up.

Who needs a cat anyway!

Doesn't help that the decat is cheaper than the sports cat

Well fitted the milltek today can what can i say with the prop moved out of the way seems to be a simple job......
Anyway the crack was pretty bad..........See pictures

Heres the old one fitted.

Removed.

New milltek now fitted with the engine mount rubber fitted.

Only question I have is im now having vibrations when the car is Idling which is really annoying and a very slight whine between 20 30MPH could this be the propshaft as I moved it out the way to so that I could get the exhaust in all bolts tightened up and aligned as it was.

Once again cheers Dan

The vibration is with the new mount insert being fitted. You should find it reduces after a few hundred miles.
As for the whine I picked this on my current car and every other Tfsi I've fitted an insert on.
It's just noise transmitted transmitted through the mount.
