Hey guys

Been thinking about doing a set of fender flares but have not had any luck with seeing a A3 or S3 with them has anyone done it before?

the reason im kinda interested is i have 17' porsche twists/cups for track and they sit just past my fender, im going to be upgrading soon to a set of 18's and thinking maybe space them out further so get it a little wider.

here are some pics these flares are from a ZG

would be quite interested in this, kits look like they are all from the states though

they look nice, but I would be nervous about ordering the fenders, as they aint cheap, when they are for a completely different make of car...

If you're doing it in earnest go flared with moulded protection for the front of the tyre.

If the tyre sticks out past the body work it promotes lift (think high speed instability) plus the tyre gets chewed up especialy on track.

Not to mention what must happen to the handling widening the track that much....

essentially if you use the zg fender you widening track by 17 to 18mm a side? thats really not that wide

It's deffo a bit of a Jap rice thing and not to everyones taste but I see no reason the two scenes can't combine... I remember a few years a when people first started using jap rims on on euro cars, people were kicking off about it! Now rota grid drifts are all the rage... And you can't exactly say that RS4 looks sh!t now can you?

I say go for it mate... Be the Shepard, not the sheep!

Why not just have your arches pulled and done properly? We do a few at work and can flair arches a good 1-1,5 inches (metal quality depending German cars are normally fine)

i think your car could pull it off miggz.
But I do like the above idea a lot, its a more oem option, and will blend in and to the untrained eye might not look altered.

Be the first to have it on the 5, it's not for me although you're right, people do like to wine about it and be rude 👆 .

I would love to see how it looks although to make it look a little more classy if maybe consider smoothing it over so you can't see the bolts, so it blends in to the body work more, but hey I'm not man enough to do this anyway 😉.

Get it done and gets plenty of pictures up but with bigger wheels, even 18's would look small I think.

That's also crossed my mind, but to find some one here thats affordable and won't botch it is a little scarce you find but they want as much money as a gt28 kit

Thanks Karl I rate I could pull it off my whole car is black and white and adding those flares in black would kinda be like my old mk3 vr6 where the fender plastics were also black.
