Hi All,

I have an S4 B6 convertible 2004 with the MK1 RNS-E. Very happy with this unit, I have the SD cards running my MP3 tracks and the CD Multi-changer in the glovebox. So generally all is good. I am very very keen to keep my lovely S4 as standard as I can, but I have 2 things I would like to sort on the RNS-e to make it 100% for me and am hoping you could advise…

1. The Original Sat Nav DVD I have with the car but it does need upgrading. It’s some 10 years old now so the guidance suffers from not having newer roads etc. I have ordered one of the 2013 DVD’s off of Ebay which is for my RNS-e etc. Do I simply plug this into the unit and let it do its stuff? Is there anything I need to do or any prior back up or anything?

FYI The disk I have got is this one:
Audi Navigation Plus RNS-E 2013-Sat Nav-Western/West Europe Maps-A3 A4 A6 TT-CAM | eBay

2. When I start the car up the start up screen just says Audi MMI for a few seconds… I have been reading elsewhere that this can be re-programmed/changed to an S4 welcome screen? Can anyone advise how to do this?

Would really appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks
Ben

If you can get a newer Audi disc, it will update the software at the same time. S4 screen coding can be done with VCDS…..

Thanks very much for the feedback guys.. So to update, received the disk today, plugged it in, it upgraded the firmware, installed the new maps etc and started working perfectly as is all the RNS-E functions so I am very pleased... Here's some screen shots I took of the process:

Now my maps are up to 2013 spec :arco:

Just have to sort the welcome screen now:yum:

Thanks

Ben
