Hello ,

Got my car couple of weeks ago -

AUDI A4 20VT 1.8 163BHP BFB ENGINE

99K ON CLOCK

Ebony Black

Quattro

Thursday last week I fitted 18s to it - 225/40/18 tyres all round , 15mm spacers on rear , 5mm on front ( to clear brakes as et 45)

Been fine since just mentioning in case this is to do with it .....today driving home from work the ESP Light came on ...now is like my previous Passats ....will it be either steering sensor/ wheels need tracking or something else ? ....will it need tracking? is it because ive got spacers different ? ....not too sure just thought I would throw the question out there to see if you have ideas?

Will ask my mate to see if he can plug vagcom in ( or is it vcds in these??)

cheers

- Ebony Pearl Black, lovely colour that! Same as my own A4!

- Likely you have disturbed the wheel speed sensor or the steering angle sensor either? Tracking wont help at all for that.

- VCDS is the newer name for VAGCOM. Essentially its the same thing.

Did you catch an abs sensor while fitting spacers ??

I'd agree, certainly worth a check. VCDS should give you a clue to whether its that or the angle sensor in the more detailed info (or damaged cabling/dirt or corrosion in connectors).

Weird one this , came home and went to work next morning , not come on since ? maybe a dodgy sensor or somethings out of line?

will get a mate to have a look on vcds
