S3 Daytona Grey (pt2)

Well, it is time for my S3 to arrive, dealer thinks he will have it by the end of the week :)

I will post pics (obviously) all in due time but at this time I want to see if I can clear up some observations I have made since registering my VIN with myAudi this morning and that of my order sheet dated April 5th 2014.

1. Already identified by the dealer and confirmed via myAudi, wheels. Car arriving with 10 spoke when standard 5 spoke star design ordered.

1a. Hopefully cleared up in another post but sound system "branded" should be the B&O I specced.

2. MyAudi says I can connect to my car using the code provided. Now I am assuming this is the Audi Connect I hear people harping on about?? I did not spec the connect (£1800ish option) but tech pack (£1500ish option) . Have they mixed this up also?

3. MyAudi says Parking System Plus. My A5 has this as front and rear, but ordered rear only for the S3, is this also mixed up?

the costing difference between what I ordered and what appears to specced is something in the region of £1000. Am I in for a surprise when I finally see the car???
 
I have B&O delivered and the MyAudi says Branded, so should be ok there?

I don't think the my.Audi.com is perfect by any means! Like others have said mine says it is Mauritius Blue (but it's Glacier White - at least I hope so!) and the inlays are described as black whereas they should "aluminium". And although the options are correct there is one missing and that's the black styling pack - we'll see on the 4th.
When I showed my dealer today he was surprised to say the least!

If you ask to have a look at the order screen which they put into the system, I would be EXTREMELY surprised having seen the Audi production systems and lines if that is not what appears at the Dealers

Yes my dealer today was 100% confident that the car would be as per the order but he did not know about the foibles of the my.audi.com website.
 
I understand myAudi may be inaccurate (the information out is only as good as the information in!) but the dealer seems to be sure it has the 10 spoke wheels, so why the rest cant be indicative of the delivery spec against order spec?

Called BA today to make an appointment to take my car in for re-evaluation (since I last had one done April)

"yes, sir. Are you thinking of buying a new car with us?"

"err.. yes! I did order it in April"

"Oh I see, could I take your name again please"

inept ****** dealership, couldn't even think to tell me they HAD the ****** car and I spoke to the sales guy Saturday and I have only been ****** waiting since April.

Hi Monopole,

I am about to negotiate with BA on an S3 Saloon, however have got some favourable quotes from GB Dealers - did BA get manage to get near a figure you wanted. I know BA is handy for us, but we are locked into one dealer here.

I am sure you are looking forward to getting the motor.

I see no one has answered you about parking system plus.

I suspect (as I have the option) that this will be the front + rear parking system with visuals on the MMI (not rear camera) so not rear only as you specified ..

What a crap experience, ordering a new car, and not getting the spec you wanted. I'd have been livid if mine had come with the 10 spoke alloys instead of standard S3 as I don't like them at all, and it makes the S3 look too much like an S-line for me (each to their own, stealth etc) :thumbsup:
 
I suspect that the problems with my.audi.com and the incorrect specs being shown are not human input error but bad programming. I agree with phil1824 and will be very surprised if your car is not the spec that you ordered. Did you not get a printed order sheet from your dealer when you placed the order. I had to sign it and when I changed the options I had to sign the revised form also.
 
Yeah I have the original printed order sheet from April but didn't get anything from them when I updated with the MY15 confirmation (changed to Daytona, removed black styling pack, added SSS)

I just hope I'm not even more disappointed when I go on Friday to at least see the car for the first time since it arrived (I can only assume they received it Monday) but so lame to not even call me, grrrrr.

I'm sure it'll be fine but I think they should have got you to sign off on each order change - mine did, which protects both sides!

so today I saw my car :)

one thing I wasn't aware of is parking system plus appears to be "standard" on MY15 according to my man at BA today, he says it "may" be because of something else I specced but wasn't too sure.....??


wasn't too fussed about taking too many -or quality- pics because the car was stinking filthy in the car lot, but some good news.. my registration details arrived today for my personalised plates and the 3D Gel plates from number1plates also arrived, so provisionally booked pick up for next Friday or if I get some shiz sorted this weekend, try and arrange an earlier collection. I know I said I was going to wait until Sep 1 but unfortunately I won't be in NI come end of August as I've just been offered a new job with start date Sep 1 in the south of england.

WBAC took my A5 today, 3K over the trade in price quoted yesterday by BA :wacko:. The guy there doing the inspection was gutted, he said he couldn't find 1 fault or mark on it to mark it down in price, LOL. Final price was above the online quote I got last week also :) in-out 1 Hr, done!

plates and reg docs with the dealer, provisioned a collection Wed, awaiting confirmation Mon :)
 
Hey Monopole, I'm sort of in a similar position. I have just bought a new 'in stock' A3 and agreed a deal verbally and paid a deposit. I was messing on PC last night and did a we buy any car valuation and it was nearly £1600 above dealers quote.

2 questions if you don't mind:-

1 - Did you get a px price from dealer and then sell privately? Ifso, did they mind or had you planned to sell privately anyway?
2- With wbac, how does it work, I have an appointment at 12 today, if we agree a price do they have it there and then. Did you have existing finance and how did that work.

I went into Audi and asked for a PX quote, with that I used it as a 'benchmark' to see what WBAC would offer. Straight away the Audi PX quote was below the online quote I got off WBAC last week.

I went to WBAC Belfast yesterday, they test drive it, inspect it, then offer you a price to buy. If you say yes, they then offset that figure with an up-to-date finance quote you have with you (as per the terms on their website and email you receive)

If you agree to the figure they offer to buy at, they click the yes button on their computer, fill in/copy a form or two then you leave walk away car-less but smiling (the deal is done there and then, the car is theirs!) If you owe more on the resettlement on your finance than their price to buy, you make a card payment to them, if not, they will transfer into your bank the remaining balance within 4 working days. In my case, I receive over 3.5k back :)


I told the dealer Friday that WBAC had quoted me more than he did and he said "do it, you'd be an idiot to sell to us" (along those lines!)
 
Thanks, I better go prepared then and arrange for a lift home. I'm hoping they honour the price stated.

I will be carless for a week but £1600 is a lot of money to gain!

One thing no one picked up on and I would like to hear about is this ^, the FRONT and rear parking plus sensors

I did not spec plus front+rear, but only rear, the car clearly has front+rear as you can see in the pic and the my price doesn't reflect the additional cost accordnig to the audi configurator of £250

(ref my original post) and to point out, myAudi online said 10 spoke alloys and parking system plus, neither I ordered! Didn't check the MMI for connect,, will find out Wed hopefully!

(Oh and sound system "branded" is B&O)

Sounds like they've built you a different car to that ordered! AFAIK Parking System Plus is a separate option unless you specified Driver Assistance Package in which case it's included.

As I don't get my car until tomorrow I can't tell but from the photo it certainly looks as though it has front parking sensors. But as compensation perhaps they also fitted a 1.6TDI engine instead :)
 
But I see from your earlier post that it has 10 spoke alloys - and yet you did not order them. More importantly did you actually WANT them?
 
dealer know my view on the wheels and he will not cost them towards the order. Seeing them up close is different (ie better) than any pic or configurator image so I have opted to keep them. He can exchange them with the next S3 in (car for stock order, not customer order) but the car isn't expected for another 3-4 weeks (just passed build stage) and I will not be in NI then!
 
My guess is that this happened when the dealer did a "spec amend" to get you your car. Maybe they were sloppy and didn't carefully check your spec versus the car they originally ordered for stock. As we said in an earlier post if they'd got you to sign off when ANY spec changed then this would not have happened but it seems to be to your benefit though.

...to what extent, I shall find out once I collect.

As confirmed Friday, I am only paying the agreed deal/order + spec amend price. Just need to see in finer detail what isn't as specced. Could be interesting

(just to add) I took in the audi configurator (of my spec) quote/printout and compared it to the order print out he updated and gave me Friday and they matched within a few pence (after taking off the optional wheels)

in all honesty, from the moment I drove off the lot at Belfast, the S3 8V is in no doubt far far better than my 2012 S3 8P and I loved that car :) totally gutted to sell it last year tbh

and in true honest tradition of 'norn-iron' weather again was sheeeeeeeeIT :D

Hi there, i was wondering about the super sports seats in the s3.
Do the seats take up a lot more room than the standard ones, Is there still room for people in the back?
Are they more comfortable than the standard?

I can only answer in regards to the SB, as the only demonstrators at the dealer had the super sports seats. My son and I are both about 5' 9" and I got him to sit behind behind me, he said he was quite comfortable, I tested the back seat also and found legroom fine, about the same as my mk6 GTI.

I have purchased 4 new Audis in the last 7 years and never got one of those surveys ... much be overdue!

Audi UK CS could do with a survey on itself as they pretty much suck :(
