Hello everyone,

Please can someone help me.
I have read other threads on this, but I am getting confused!!!!

I have VCDS, but quite little knowledge on how to use it.
I have tried doing a forced regen by following VCDS WiKi, but I keep getting messages like 'aborted safetey reasons' or 'not started'.

Please can some explain the process of a forced regen in lay-mans terms for an A4 B8.

Thank you in advance.

last time I did one I used the wiki guide and it worked for me

what fault codes showed up when you did the scan ?

yes get the code reader on it, hope you have P0473 or P0472. I had same issue on my A4 2.0 tdi and with your mileage at 82K can be quite common, i was lucky, mine was just the dpf sensor, a 10 minute swap out, but sensor was £60 was the stealers for the part :(

I have the following:
P2463 00 [175] Excessive Soot Accumulation
P2452 00 [101] Elect Malfunction
P2453 00 [101] Implausable Signal

Just cleared them again, and this one won't go:

1 Fault Found:

5188 - Diesel Particle Filter
P2463 00 [167] - Excessive Soot Accumulation
MIL ON - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00000001
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 1
Mileage: 133451 km
Date: 2014.07.29
Time: 21:45:05

Readiness: 0 0 0 0 1

Not the sensor then I think, oops it is located top of engine, just behind the engine cover on the left side just before the firewall. But with those codes I'm sure it won't be ;( without looking might be a dpf clean and regen, anyone any ideas?

it is lit at the very back of the engine, top side, against the fire wall, with an electrical connector on the side, and 2 rubber hoses at the bottom

The simplest thing to do is Google Audi G450 sensor location, i have just hopefully will help you out :)

JONNY 5 IS ALIVE :)

It has never run so sweet, thank you so much everyone :)

Is it worth trying a forced regen?
