I need bit of advice or if anyone has similar problem how did fix it.
The car is 2007 2.0tdi 170 with 75.000 on the clock.
Now the problem, it's intermittent problem which happens one to two times a week, the car feels like it has no power from 1000rpm up to 2000rpm, it's like your driving with hand brake on or driving in 5th gear at 20mph then when the car hits 2000rpm and it's as if the turbo is on a on switch and then car jerks and then if off like a greyhound.
Now the strange bit it only happens on way home from work which is up hill and 3.5 mile drive.
The car has been into my local indy and no faults could be found.
Yesterday I took the up my local a road in forth gear at 2750rpm for 20 miles to regen the dpf filter as the car has been doing a lot short trips, so thought this might help, I was all so thinking of trying premium diesel.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Mine occasionally does something similar too but I do 80miles a day to work and back with very few short journeys.. think it is DPF, EGR related, though I could be wrong....
Premium diesel doesn't make much difference really, but I do steer clear of tesco's diesel

Symptoms are very much like I had on mine before the egr seized solid.

If your car is hesitating at these revs then there's a good chance its the vacuum unit that is attached to the inlet manifold, it has a diaphragm inside which splits.
Only about £10.

That sounds like the way my car used to be!
I've just changed the manifold vac unit at the weekend and have NEVER seen an egr valve or manifold as bad to be honest. Chunks of carbon/soot the size of marbles fell out of the egr and the manifold wasn't much better either. It was a very dirty job but the car accelerates much more 'uniformly' now and the idle is steadier and quieter. It also revs a lot easier to the redline and the power is improved also.
A 'must do' job on the 170 I reckon

Well here's a update on my problem.
Car went into my local specialists and after 3 hours of fault finding they found egr valve had fault in it which ecu did not pick up as a fault, so they replaced egr valve,
all in £400.20p.
I've test driving the car now for 2 weeks now and it still has the same fault, now iam starting to think it's a turbo fault of some sort, I've all so noticed it happens when I've drove up a steep hill.
So iam down around £500 and no further forwards and starting to lose faith in the car.

Change the vacuum unit on the inlet manifold, whilst you are at it clean the manifold out, they get filthy.
It will cost just a few quid

sounds very much like the same problem i had with mine and it was the vacum unit on mine

How much did that set you back put right?

Not more than £20 with all new gasgets for inlet manifold etc. Simple enough to do yourself but if you don't feel like it a garage shouldn't charge you more than 2 hours labour.
If I can do it anyone can :)

i had only had the car a few weeks so i had a local garage do the work for me and the place i bought the car from reimbursed me for it, all in it cost me 140 quid and that was including the diagnostic that they did also otherwise i would have done it myself and while it was all off had the anti shudder valve replaced which was 260 quid just for the part that also was reimbursed.

Well a4 2.0 tdi (the devils car) is back in garage again as still having same problem, I think the garage are starting to feel sorry for me as they have stopped charging me Labour cost.
Not holding much hope they fix the fault, have really feeling of despair at the momunt.
