My friend has an old ebay FMIC laying around from his E30. I can get it dirt cheap. Would it give me added turbo lag, or would the difference be so little i wouldnt notice it? He would help me do some custom piping so i can keep my fogs so there would probably be more pipe bends than normal.

A3 1.8T AUM
Milltek turboback
Remapped and running 1.2 bar
hp 200-210

Need dimensions of the cooler really

I don't think there is anything you can do to introduce lag to a turbo as small as a k03s... I run a fairly large cooler with 2.5" core depth and 2.5" pipe work straight off the turbo... Spool is still pretty much instantaneous!

What about the sensor in the intercooler? What do i do with that? Its an E-gas model

You mean the MAP sensor? you will need to get something like a Forge MAP sensor tube and fit it into your pipework... there are example of this in the FMIC thread in the FAQs

By the way the measurements of the intercooler is 60cm long, 20 tall and 5 wide. Would that be a problem to get back there? I got AC in the car.

Thats about the same measurements as mine. Mine's 56mm deep and I removed air-con condenser in the name of keeping fogs and grills in tact... I think you may struggle otherwise but it's probably possible.

I'll get you a snap of my MAP sensor location tonight but basically I just butchered a silicone TB pipe and wedged it in

I will wait for your pics as I wanted to crack on with fitting mine

I assume you mean you clipped an alloy MAP sensor tube in and not just poked a hole in the hose and cable tied the sensor on? (I have actually seen this by the way!!!)

ha ha! . . Why Mr Tuft, what do you take me for!?

Yea, I used a forge pipe as annoyingly they appear to be the only people that do one (for 50 effing quid!) and a creation motorsport TB pipe... By far the most expensive bit of my whole intercooler set up! lol

Not the best snap, but you get the idea!

I had the bumper off and have decided that it just isn't worth it at the moment because of my air con, and.. No idea of the english word, but it's a Hydronic 5 if anyone knows what i am talking about. Way too much stuff in the way.
