ok, problem solved for the mo!

The 330D is now sold (deposit taken, subject to funds by the end of the week) and Im back in the A4..

The dark side was indeed tempting.. but the force was strong with this one..

If I end up in a job with a company car, then yes probably.. :-(

But if no car, or a car allowance scheme instead, then I think she's staying! :)

If I dont get another job quickly, then might have no choice in the matter :-(

oh well!

2 interviews this week though, one's a second interview, so fingers crossed..

I'll be really glad when this is all over!
 
so having whittled it down to three people, I had to go through a sequence of four separate interviews yesterday, with the same company.. started at 9am.. First one on Networking and infrastructure management with the relevant people.. the next one on some bespoke systems and interoperability with two directors.. the next one on IT Strategy and people management with two different directors.. by which time there was just two of us left.. then a lengthy formal interview with a three director panel after that.. I signed out of there at 3.30 yesterday afternoon, totally drained but confident - but got the rejection today! absolutely gutted, oh well.. that was the hardest interview process ive ever been through!

so - thanks for the support, I shall hang on to it, I need every bit of it for the other final interview tomorrow! Just working through my presentation for that one now.. and no its not going to be death by powerpoint! Their supplied topic is 'How I would develop, document and test a full contingency plan' - not just for IT. At least this is something Ive done before..!

CMS i hope you have kept any SOP documentation which may be useful from previous employment if you have done that sort of thing before..... my hat off to you as i hate doing them.

Would there be anything to gain by asking the place who just interviewed you why they didn't choose you?
Be nice to know what you might have been lacking (in their eyes), so you could build on it, etc.
Maybe you were over qualified and they were scared.

Always good to get feedback on interviews i would ask them nicely why they rejected you.
Won't hurt always good to see.

very pleased.. start in two weeks, decent package, loads to do, some foreign travel (sites in Boston, US and in Munich) but not loads, interesting company, its a new post as their IT needs a lot of turnaround in preparation for buying some more businesses, £13M turnover / £2.8M profit in 2005 which aint a bad ratio, permanent senior position so 3 months notice period again, bonus scheme, healthcare, flexitime, 25days hol, and...

...I get to keep the A4!!!!!
