Just picked up my s3 saloon today. Pics to follow when I get round to it.

I was rather lucky to find one that wasn't yet allocated to the dealer network. So, from deciding to order one to picking up today took 2 weeks all in. Obviously I had to take what was there, but it's not a bad spec:

Panther black
Supersports seats
Park plus
Comfort pack
B&O
19" wing alloys
Reversing cam
SD card satnav
Privacy glass
Exteneded mono.pur interior finish
Folding heated door mirrors

Coming out of a Nissan GTR so not expecting to get too excited about the perfomance but so far so good - it's a nice thing to be in, somewhat more refined and more practical with an 8 month old son to accommodate.

Lucky you.
Beats my 9 month wait from order to delivery (ordered end November 2013; due early September 2014)!

That's a bummer. The rumour is that Auid are restricting supply to UK because the current A4 range is on its run out. People are walking into dealerships for an A4 saloon, seeing it beside the A3 saloon and opting for the A3, so potentially lots of old A4s sat around unless you turn off the A3 tap. Sounds like you've caught the wrong end of this and I got very lucky. Daft thing is (from Audi's point of view) if I'd been told anything more than a few months' wait, I'd have bought something other than an Audi - probably a Golf R or Merc A45 AMG.

That's an insane waiting time!! Definitely should try a different dealer! Can't imagine waiting 10 months for a car. I'd rather drive 100 miles to one that can get it to me in 6.

Unfortunately I have no control over the Dealer it's coming from as it's a lease car. It's not my local dealer; they said they could get one much quicker.

I had many phone calls and emails with Audi Customer Services but they were unable to help and could not (still can't) explain why my car is only down for a wk 33 build when others are being built and delivered to order as well as unsold cars being built and sent out to dealers. But Customer Services say they have no influence over Audi Sales, who are in a completely different building and take no notice of Customer Services...! As they say, the bigger the elephant the bigger the balls..

Orderd my S3 limousine / Saloon the 23th of may delivery wk 48 (end of november) > so 1 jan 2015

Spec:

Sepang blue
Supersports seats
Park plus
mono.pur
18" standard (will fit some 19'' BBS CH-R)
Rear Cam
7" MMI Plus
Privacy glass
Folding heated door mirrors
Sunroof
Keyless start
Park assist
Led
Phonebox & Audi Connect

Tuning:
Focal audio + JL-audio sub
Full turbo back Milltek exhaust

Great car. Clearly the standard S3 isn't fast enough for you!

Where do you live to get that lovely Sepang Blue? There are NO blues at all available for S3 saloons on the UK market.
Can't begin to imagine the way Audi UK think (or don't think as the case may be..)
Obviously somewhere with no speed limits!

Netherlands :)
Sepang added early may in configurator .
Once you are used to ++ Horse power you want to get more !

Horsepower is like money: it doesn't matter how much you have it's never quite enough...!

Well, yes and no.
I know about torque - I have a car with a 289 cu in Mustang V8; it's not that fast but boy does it feel powerful!

Nice car :) I heard the new one was sold out in 30 seconds in Europe with 9300 applying...

I love them.. Mine's not actually a Mustang though! It's a 1965 car with a Mustang V8..

I think you must have been reading this week's Autocar mag cuke2u?
I see it mentions the 9300 takers for the 500 new Mustangs being sent to Europe, but I was also just reading about the Trident Iceni which quotes Phil Bevan as saying that "Horsepower is a myth. The most important things are torque and optimising the efficiency of an engine".

It's a bit coincidental all this, as my V8-powered car I referred to is actually one of the TVR Tridents, the forerunner of the original Trident cars which Phil (who I know - good guy and I wish him very well) has resurrected for his Iceni project, although the only thing that it actually has in common is the badge.. Still, he's aware of the heritage and is quite keen to make the connection!

My S3 has the same torque as the VW Golf GTD, but I know which one is quicker....

Wiating for those pics. :sob:

Sepang Blue has just appeared on the Audi UK configurator for the S3 Saloon!
I've changed my order from Glacier White to Sepang Blue; my order is still Status 10 so I'm assured it shouldn't affect the delivery date (currently build date is wk 33 or 34). I'm glad I spotted that; terrific colour!

Had mine for 2 weeks now....

2.0 TDI, S-line (manual)
Lotus Grey.
19" alloys
Audi pre sense basic
Bang & Olufsen
Advanced key
LED headlights
Interior lighting package
MMI® Navigation plus with MMI® touch
Multifunction flat bottom steering wheel
Electric lumbar support
Panoramic sunroof
ACC
Tyre pressure monitor

Thanks for a great forum!

Did you have to pay for the Tyre Pressure Monitor Fred007?

When I ordered mine I chose the TPM option, but took it up with them as I understood all news cars post October 2013 had to have them by law. Their response was that strictly speaking the A3/S3 saloon wasn't a new car as it was a development of the A3 (despite the fact that all panels are different..) so they didn't have to comply.
Yet as from April/May this year the TPM is now fitted as standard, so I wonder if someone took them to task for it and they've had to back down and fit it as standard?

Yet as from April/May this year the TPM is now fitted as standard, so I wonder if someone took them to task for it and they've had to back down and fit it as standard?

I'm in the TPMS business so the actual fact is that i November 2012 all new type approval cars (i.e. completely new cars and not modification of existing cars) had to have TPMS but from 1 November 2014 ALL cars sold in EU must be fitted with a TPMS system. So that is why MY15 cars are now fitting TPMS as a standard fitment. But unfortunately Audi have opted for the inferior indirect system (iTPMS) and not direct (dTPMS). :(

"Vehicles in categories M1 shall be equipped with an accurate Tyre Pressure Monitoring System capable of giving,
when necessary, an in-car warning to the driver when a loss of pressure occurs in any tyre, which is in the interests
of optimum fuel consumption and road safety. Appropriate limits in the technical specifications shall be set to
achieve this, which shall furthermore allow for a technology-neutral and cost-effective approach in the development
of accurate Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems."

As for the introduction dates of TPMS, there is a two year phase-in schedule starting from November 1st 2012. Article 13.1 to 13.4 of the adopted text states that all vehicles type approved after this date must install a TPM System. Furthermore all newly registered vehicles after November 1st 2014 must have a TPM System.

Thanks for the clarification!
I ticked it as an option because I've had it on both my current A5 and my last car (VW Eos) and I thought it was a bargain. It's let me know immediately of a drop in tyre pressure and on the 4 or 5 occasions it's happened it really means it. I've had the opportunity to stop and check it out and change the wheel if necessary, which can save damaging the tyre beyond repair by driving on it when it's too under-inflated. A new tyre for an A5 is about twice the cost of the TPMS option (£75)!

Funnily enough my 2011 focus came with the indirect system as standard this year they've decided to change it to the direct system.
However, back on topic, cheers Fred...

Most definitely Sepang Blue, The King was one of the first to take delivery of an S3 saloon in Sepang Blue.

Totally agree with his sentiments about the colour, can't wait for ours, should go onto the production line next week!

Hi there! First post, but have used the forum for the last few months to help set the build (lots of useful advice!)

On order: A3 Saloon 1.8 TFSI Quattro in Misano Red (full spec in sig).

Ordered on May 10th and currently on for BW40. I've seen many 1.4's and S3's ordered on here but not too many 1.8's. Long wait, but I am super excited!

wow looks dark on that pic hope its lighter in person. I want to order sepang as well

I changed my order to Sepang Blue (from Glacier White) after seeing The King's pictures. It wasn't available when I first ordered my S3 but it appeared on Audi's Configurator some time in May. Just heard yesterday my car is now at Status 20 so it's a definite build-week 31! Can't wait!
