I've just fit a new amp in my a4 avant , mmi works fine but no sound and cd is showing pause , I've just searched internet and it's coming up componment protectin , is there any one on here from northwest uk that can sort it ?

As far as I know you have to go to an Audi dealer to get this sorted.

I bought the amp yesterday seen it working , so I know it works , , I thought it would of been plug and play
The AMP is in component protection, and this need to be removed by an Audi dealer, or any garage with a registered VAS diagnostic workstation. The amp would have been working fine in the original car, and when it was fitted into you car it would have seen a new VIN number and that put it into CP. The side affect of CP is no sound.
Thanks for that b5nut ,I've booked it into a local company, he said it needs componment protection , he's just done one on a tt with bose fitted
It needs removing not adding! It's already in CP, that's why it does not work.

Took it to a mate today who said he could do it , guess what he couldn't , so wrang revo tech at bradford , what a bunch of nice guys , they put me on to a audi tecnition who specialises in audio , he's sorting it tomorow , fingers crossed !
Had the amps conponment protectin took off , still no sound still on mute , the amp I got was out of a 2011 a4 my cars a 2009 would I have to get the update disc for the mmi for it to update the car?
