Im looking to get my dpf removed along with egr and stage 1 map. They seem to have a good reputation with audi/vw.

from a standard 2.0tdi 170 diesel, what power would I be expecting to make? I've been told between 225/235 bhp and 420-480 torque, is that realistic?

Hey Singh,

You would be correct there reputation is very good. "Olethalb" k04 dtm is currently with them getting some stage 2/3 mapping done.

And in general he is very meticulous on were his car goes etc.

But none the less there work is very good and go the extra mile a lot of the time.

Regards to the map it all depends how aggressive you want to go. Dont always chase numbers. Sometimes a safer map is a better map.

Like for example when i had my b6 1.8t I used to chase numbers and it made the car have very bad turbo lag, this was at around 300hp

I had it mapped to 280. But the power was a lot more progressive, rather than nothing nothing nothing booooostt sort of thing.

I would say anything above 200 hp is good. But of course torque in the diesels that matter so anything from 400nm up would be a good figure.

Had my previous car mapped there. the lads are absolutely ace, lots of advice ,tips. and they got the job done as advertised.
Health checks ,scanning for codes, smoke test done prior to map. before and after map rolling road test/
these guys know everything about your car, every aspect of it.
I was very happy with their approach, knowledge and service given.
Certainly recommend them

Nick at R tech certainly knows his stuff. Mapped my old golf tdi 150 to 195 and it was amazing. Completely usable power and perfect delivery.

As said above its all about area under the curve and less above willy waving figures. Let him work his magic and I'm sure it will be an animal with anywhere near that sort of power!

Here along with many forums have a lot of fanboys of R-Tech praising them also the figures they get are very good

They can't do Quattro's though as they don't have a 4WD dyno.

I've seen some good figures from them aswell.

Had my B6 TDI mapped there, good service from then guys, but as previously stated they can't do quattros due to only having a 2WD dyno. Also when I asked about DPF removal on my B7 they said they would need the car for 5 days... no idea what they wanted it for during that time though?

Had my agu golf mapped bybthem twice couldnt say anytging bad about them and the car was mint both times, couldnt do my a4 tho as ecu is lockes from a previous map so its going to darkside

I've known the guys at R-tech since they first bought the unit. Nick really knows his stuff and has only got better and better with the knowledge he has gained over the years. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

You don't need to have a 4WD dyno to map a car. A lot of VAG 4WD cars with Haldex systems can be run on a 2WD dyno by disabling the haldex controller. Even if you have a permanent 4WD car such as an A4/ A6 these can be tuned on the road by data logging acceleration runs, this is how my car was mapped. You only need a dyno if you need to get a before and after figure.
Cars tuned on the road are also less likely to have driveability issues that may not show up on a dyno.
