GTI international is a weekend car show with a drag strip.

Starting friday and finishing sunday.
Normally a good laugh.
Camping, tents, BBQs, cars and hopefully sunshine.

Set one up or join us?

I got no idea how its done though.
Calvin, the guy behind AITP did it all on his own I think.

lol i dont have the experience to do that, being an EO on here is enough for me to handle haha

Easier said than done, im not made of money haha 2014 has been an expensive year for me. If theres anything on towards the end of the year i'd love to get over for that :)

Scott, looks like you are ready to roll now!!!!

Brennan, you need to pop over to one of the shows, Calvin (AITP), did do it by himself and its easily one of the best shows out there now, so you never know what could happen :)

Ive picked my wheels up at lunchtime, going to seal them tonight, then hopefully get them fitted tomorrow, then clean the car on Saturday.

It is looking quite dull in Brum at the mo though, considering its meant to be the hottest day of the year too!!

Happy Friday everyone :)

Wheels have been sealed (thanks Jojo), they smell really nice..lol!!

Hopefully get them fitted today and wash the car tomorrow, ready for Sunday morning.

Weather is pretty dull this way, so hoping it picks up for the weekend!!

I'm working tomorrow then got the big shop so the chances of giving mine a good clean not looking good!

Looking forward to seeing what Jo's car looks like in my rear view mirror on the 1/4 mile :jester:

Inters was a good laugh, was good to go and see people again. I like to think I keep my anonymity pretty well kept too, Wahoo!

I am regretting a little bit taking my car down the strip. I think the old yellow beetle would have been the only car that was slower though :(

That should read that I am regretting NOT taking it down the strip. There's always next year! :)

I wanted to go down, had my jacket and helmet with me, but forgot my driving license! Lol :keule:

Unlucky!

I need to download an app for my phone to practice some 1/4 runs, I have no idea what rough time i'd get in mine. There's not many cars I could have beaten, and I imagine i'd have stalled it too knowing me :)

Chris(rhubarb) representing team Audi-sport on the strip!

Good to catch up with a few of the usual faces, i felt the show was a bit of a letdown this year due to attendance figures.

The food was awesome (as you can see :))

There wasnt as much old skool metal there as I was expecting (Mk1 and Mk2 Golfs)

UV - cheers, i thought I would represent the older generation with the original TMNT :)

Chris (Rhubarb) I have got a good vid of you on the strip beating the Corrado, so drop me a PM with your email address and I will mail it over to you.

Morning all,

Back at work and back to normality.

Shame :(

Westy, you're getting old mate. That's all it is. Doubt I could have done two full weekends but since I only had to do one, I'm ok. :)

Fair play to Rhubarb for going down the strip. What times did you do mate?

That's what Nilz look like!! :ninja:

Crazy, you can do times with VCDS, unless you're not using it any more, then can I have it?

Good weekend overall and nice that ASN put in the effort for this years show. Be interested to see what happens next year.
Whatever happens, I hope it don't take away from the atmosphere of this and previous shows.

COLIN!!

Highlight of the weekend was getting to drive a Stage1 S3 8P and going "OOOohhhh **** that's quick!!!" A lot.

AITP next.....Maybe.

Morning everybody :)

Scott, how was the carvery and did you get your veggie option?? LOL!!

I was so drained yesterday in the office, it was a typical Monday and was all go all day!!

Whose watching the match tonight and what do you think the score will be??

I will be and am hoping Brazil go through.

I ended up having a lasagna, garlic bread, salad, coffee, smoothie, cheesy chips, pint of doombar, ice cream and fruit salad when I got home.

I was good.

Not watching football.

I got to clean Dave's BBQ and tidy up my mess that was once my garage.

LOL...not too much then ;)

How is the garage coming along??

I had a quote for the garden yesterday, so hoping to have that sorted in the coming weeks, having some of the borders cleared away, was quite surprised actually as it will potentially give me another metre of garden space :)

I removed a 25 metre bush last month, that made it wider and fitted a new fence.
I might have to tell the gardener to come one a week instead of every 2 weeks.
300 square metres of garden seems to be a bit much for him.
I've tried helping out but I can't do that much due to time so its a constant battle.

every little helps, I love having a garden but hate doing the work.

The garage is ok.
It needs organising again.
Built a new bench for it the other day.
Need to order a single phase to 3 phase adaptor for my linisher and get the venting sorted out for that, some more lighting but first I want to sort some shelving out so I can put my records away and get my NES, SNES and N64 on the shelf and wired up to the tele.
Hopefully I'll have enough room for my 8 track and Reel-Reel players.

but like always, work and funds get in the way.

Hows the new kitchen going?

Was good to catch up again Fred, I hadn't realised it was your stag night the week before, I thought you were just wimping out.

Scott, can you log times with VCDS on the B5? I'll look into that!

Kitchen is all sorted now, just a couple of little bits that need to be sorted, but waiting for funds to build up again before we can finish off...the main thing is we are and can make so much more use of it now and its probably the best decision we have made with the house.

With the garden getting done as well, it will be even better, as most evenings now, we are straight into the kitchen/diner which opens onto the garden, so with that cleared up, it will make it even more usable. :)

Random MTB question for mountain bikers among us.

I currently use my Cannondale F5 to cycle to work and hurl myself off local mountains.
I'm trying to make it better for both.

I got some new wheels and new semi slick 1" wide tyres for road mode and I'm keeping my other MTB wheels and tyres for MTB mode.

The chainring currently has 22/32/44 tooth chainrings and I hardly ever use the 22 tooth ring.
I'm wondering if its possible to up each ring a bit and at later date add a chain guard.

I'm thinking something like 32/44/48.

Thoughts?
