Right guys and girls,

got a 2009 a3 s-line in misano red and have some faint swirl marks

looking at the poorboys super swirl remover range, what would be the best one to use for applying by hand?

Thanks in advance 😊

Hi mate,

I tried the SSR1 by hand and it made things worse, so just be careful. Hand polishing didn't seem to be enough to break down the abrasives suspended in the polish, essentially just rubbing grit around over the paint. I ended up trying GTechniq P1, which worked pretty well by hand although it takes a bit of elbow grease. Residue wipes off easily though.

After that, I took the plunge and bought a DAS6, yet to get the full benefits though - wasn't very brave first time!

Good luck, hope that little bit of info helps somehow!

Cheers for the help mate, appreciate it

Got it mopped on the weekend my a mate with menemza compound stuff, came out a lot better than it was so can't really complain

when it comes to cutting compounds my advice is to go with the reputable brands that have a history to back up what they advertise

you can spend less on a better product, id highly recommend meguiars ultimate compound, you can get it from halfords for just a tenner, this is my go to product for hand use or machine use

for more stubborn swirls i go to meguiars mf compound
