Guys,

collected the the new motor today (first impressions to follow).

Was given a lightning MMI cable for my Iphone 5 which apparently was new in this week.

Yes it's green.

Will post a pic when I remember how.

Seems to work better than old cable with lightning adaptor.

Do you have a case on your iPhone, and if so, will this cable fit it without needing to take the case off? There does appear to be a bit of a shoulder on the lightning plug which maybe means it will fit through a chunky case like mine.
 
Do you also have the part no as collecting my car in 11hrs and 55mins and dealer is giving me any cables I require and hadn't seen the green one before today.
 
I Have one of those leather wrap around cases so I have to open it to attach the cable. the plug is quite chunky at the shoulder and doubt it would accommodate one of those clip on cases.

Does this lead only work with Audi Phone Box ? if not where is the socket that takes this lead ?

Should work with all cars, everything is fitted with AMI as far as I'm aware.
 
Hi guys have been given two cables to try today, wife not back from work yet to try, apparently depends on software on phone, I have 5s and have been given a green coller cable and a white coller cable not sure what the difference is any ideas? Thanks
 
Enjoy the cable fun.

My experience green one= rubbish (looses connection / not fit for nothing apart from bin)
Blue one (older i-phone connection plus apple lightning adaptor) = much better conection, no dropping of call, displays artwork.
but costs you another 25 quid.
 
I've got a blue collar cable with apple lightning adaptor and can't get the
artwork to work with iPhone 5.

Green collar cable broke almost immediately and ended up in the bin.

I've got the lightning cable as well. But I've find using Bluetooth connection is the best. It does album art too.

You need the red one with an adapter for artwork to work

This is what I use but the connection is still a bit iffy... I really don't understand why Audi can't just make a single Lightning and 30pin cable and be done with it instead of having two or even three variants for both and charging different amounts. It either works or it doesn't!

I use Bluetooth sometimes and it works fine but I find the quality is diminished compared with the cable.

I've just had a new A3 and have the green AMI lead for my iPhone 5 (IOS 8). If I plug the lead in to the car FIRST, the tracks will not play unless I press play on the iPhone. Changing tacks also requires me to press play each time. If I connect the lead to the phone FIRST then in to the car it's OK. This could be a pain unplugging the AMI lead each time I get in the car.

Anyone heard of any problems?

I just picked up my S3 and I got the yellow cable, Apparently its the latest one that has come out.

Could you post up a photo of the Yellow Collar lead please, and one with the part number label on the side of this lead?

Hi guys will do when I get home will try take a pic of the album art Bluetooth streaming album art works as well
 
il do a proper test one via Bluetooth streaming and one via the cable.
I am only streaming music from my phone via the music app not using any other streaming apps for my music.
 
Was the cable already in the car or did you buy it from them?
 
Just been to my local Audi garage and purchased the MMI lead for the I-Phone 5, it's got a yellow collar, part number 4FO O51 51O AL. It shows album art work and plays video.
