Hi, it may well have been posted before, but I can't seem to find it. What other Audi calipers are a direct replacement for a b5 s4 1998 ? Have heard that any b7 chassis audi running 321mm discs will mount straight up but looking for some clarification on this. On another note, what are the best pads to run on the standard calipers ? the brakes are pants LOL.

Ferrodo pads or padgid's. I went padgid route but will be swapping to ferrodos at next pad change.

The B7 2.0T has 320mm fronts iirc or you can go B6/7 345mm S4's, anything on the VAG range with larger caliper spacing should go on with little effort.

Yeh direct swap you can use the B7 320's or A6/Allroad models also used the same 320mm setup.

The stock S4 calipers are a bit ****, and you will struggle to get decent pads for them.

Cheers for the replies, been scouring the net all day trying to find some decent pads for the stock set up. the pagids are stock oem spec aren't they, was looking at Ferrodo 2500 but they don't do fronts, or not that I can find . . .which Ferrodo's do you recommend ? chers. might have to swap for some b7 calipers just to open up the options a bit

Yeh if your wanting "fancy" pads then just change them.

should be plenty pad options for the B7/A6 320mm ATE caliper

The 320mm brakes use the same pad as the B6/7 S4 iirc so should be easy to find ds2500 id say only get them if your going to track it if not ferrodo premiers will do just fine for every day driving.

If you do get pagids they tend to go a bit crap after a few months hence why il be switching to the ferrodo's as mine seem to have lost there initial bite.
