Hi All,

I know this has been discussed at length before and know that Trups has put a lot of time and effort in to trying to find a solution.

BUT

I still can't find a definitive answer...

Where can I get some LED Error Free Number plate Bulbs for my car.

If there isn't a error free LED option available are there any "Normal" bulbs that look like LEDs/colour etc out there that don't throw up errors?

Hope you can help..

Thanks,

Mal

Trups / em tuning is your man

I have them in my RS3 and have no problems, just need to code out the error using Vag-com.

Hi mate yes there are a few options for the 2009-2012 S3's, not sure if its the same for the RS3's:

1- some 18/25 SMD LED's work (might be too bright)
2 - Use Oem LED's with kufatec adapters (work 100% but pricey)
3- use LED's with Ebay resistors - 25W 10 OHM LED AUDI NUMBER PLATE RESISTOR CANBUS AUDI A4 RS4 A3 S3 8P NO ERROR | eBay
4 - use white halogen festoons ( very dim, but you get rid of that yellow)
5 - Can code out on some - ( only works on some, need vcds)

I made these for my 2003 8P a few months ago and have been using them with no problems.

I used the standard bulbs and soldered one of the LED panels from [these](1X H7 102 LED 3528 SMD Pure White Car Fog Head Light Headlight Bulb Lamp DC 12V | eBay) in parallel with them. The LED provides the nice blue light and the bulb draws the required current to fool the ECU.
Hope this Helps

I'd highly recommend the OEM route after having both bulbs in the standard housing and now having OEM. The OEM ones are way crisper in terms of light output, it was worth the money all day long

OOI Has anyone tested on a 2010, 2011 or 2012 car using the Kufatec adapter with regular aftermarket LED bulbs do we know guys?

Thanks.
