Hi all

I need a bank 1 lambda sensor replacing i have been quoted 190 for a aftermarket part and 230 for a vag part this includes fitting ....

Rip off or not ?

Is this the correct part number

Part number: 022 906 262 Q

I have found a bosch one online on ebay priced at £69.99

Are these a easy DIY job ????

Thanks

They are expensive, but not that much mate, Euro Car Parts sell them too, so worth checking with them.

Have you got the error code, as the S3 has 2 sensors on the car, both will Show as Bank 1, but it should then say S1 or S2, one is behind the engine and the other is by the cat.

Its definatly the one behind the engine i have a m8 who works at euro so ill try get some discount aswell ;) thanka nilz

soak it in vinager for a week should fix it up nicely, it did on my S2 sensor.

Hmmm maybe im getting a quote on a fresh one tomo from euro car parts if its still a far amount i might have a go with some vinegar

Does the vinegar trick actually work though?

Im sure the one on the wifes car is causing an issue, so wouldnt mind giving it a go if it saves some monies!!

i had to change mine the other day, but i just bought a second hand oem one off a breaking car. works fine and all for just £25 delivered

Is it easy access at the back of the engine ? Easy DIY job ?

If you get the charge pip off its easy enough! But i had a problem with mine where the threads had melted together so had to re-tap the hole. it would have been easy enough with out this problem though.

If it helps, i got an NGK b1s2 sensor off ebay last year as was almost half price of the bosch ones which were £110ish at the time i think

Ahh sweet m8 but i have managed to find one for 69.99 and its bosch so ill probs get that one and ask how they will charge in labour to fit it

No probs mate, hopefully you will get it sorted and save a few bob too :)

buy a cheep open end spanner and cut it in half make doing it DIY a lot easer

the vinager soak worked....been going strong for a year, no fault codes & mpg is spot on.
