2003 S3 engine undertray

S3's should have a small undertray that stops at the sump... they don't have a full undertray like A3's etc

Not unusual for them to be missing... its no show stopper as they can be bought for a decent price on eBay

Cheers tuffty, it hasn't put me off, just wasn't sure if it should have one, as there are mounting holes for it. Been looking at late cars, 03 onwards, two have had rusty rain gutters, and one started overheating on the test drive. On to the next one.
i hope you have someone who is mechanically minded looking at these with you. An overheating car on a test drive could potentially be a very good reason to drive down the price if the rest of the car is good if a person knows what to check. Basically it could simply be a thermostat or rad. rusty rain gutters...well, looks like sooner or later most will get afflicted with this condition judging from the many posts, so again another (depending on the rest of the car) reason for you to knock off a few hundred to get that done.
Cheers fella, waiting on a diagnosis for the overheating, as everything else about it was immaculate. Just trying to see as many cars as possible. Just not that many cars fitting the bill.
