Newbie A4 Black Edition 177 Advice

Good evening all,

Im new to the site having joined up today. After picking up my new car in March, ive reached the point now where im looking to do a few things to her. Being new from Audi, im a bit cautious on things like remaps for the moment due to the warrenty.

Ive read a few things into the like of the VCDS which is very appealing, and also wondered what the standard route of basic modifications are for the b8s. Being a Black edition I imagine I have quite a few niceties already fitted but what else wouldnt be included.

Im an aircraft engineer so pretty handy with tools, and specialise in avionics so wiring doesnt phaseme.
Im also based down Portsmouth at the moment but home is back in South Wales for the weekends.
If anybody was local with knowledge of VCDS id be very happy to meet them.

Im trying to upload photos as we speak but im having some trouble..Im 24 and cant work an iPhone apparently.

Thanks NHN, i want to see the full options available to me, and how easy the system is to use before i commit to buying a cable, but i will PM you the moment i decide to buy one. :) Being a 2014 im hoping i wont be needing it for the fault code side of things for a while!! haha
 
There is a list of vcds mods at the top of the B8 page but you can also fit the RS4 aluminium pedal set but look it up I did it to my black edition aswell as under seat storage, puddle lighting and glove box lighting ( if you don't have it ) tuning box as this won't effect your warranty as I don't want to map yet ( not that you can ) window tints as the saloon is the only one you can't get it on now :( just a few I have done plus some vcds mods ....
 
Yea i had a quick look through the list, RS$ aluminium pedals sound nice. Did you purchase them through Audi? Ive no idea if mine has glovebox or puddle lighting, shows how much attention i pay! And how little you did to my photos, my windows got tinted in Audi as part of the deal. But they had to wait for the car to arrive as wasnt a factory option. What VCDS mods did you opt for if you dont mind me asking.
 
Lol sorry I am on my mobile and the photo's arnt loading :) I did get the pedals from Audi mine is a manual box so have all 3 you order the right hand drive break and cluch but the left hand drive acc pedal have a look at my posts as I put some before and after photos up .. I do have a vcds but if you can find someone local who can do some mods for you you wont need your own just yet I got it as we have 3 Audis in the clan a 54 plate A4 and an 08 S3 so its very handy for them.

Thank you, yes she sure is! So glad I opted for this colour, ive seen so many White coloured black editions about not one misano...YET!

Ahh okay then ill let you off! :) Ill have a gander now, ive got an exam first thing in the morning and signing up to this forum tonight wasnt a good idea!! We just put an order in for the facelft polo for the mrs which should be built for august time, so it may come in handy for her too! It just finding out how to use the thing! lol

I have an BE Avant Misano but urs seemed darker in the pics.
Love the way how it changes colour with the sun.
Cracking colour for polishing/waxing ;)

Now I can see the photos ...

VCDS mods I have done so far are :-
Dial sweep
Hidden MMI menus
Emergency Flashing rear break lights
Lap counter
Alarm beep
Reversing mirror

I'm sure there are more I just can't remember :)

I know it does look lovely in the sun, it can look quite orange in certain lights i find!
And i have a confession, i still havnt had polished it yet. The milage im doing on the motorways means it gets a quick snow foam and clean. :(

All of them sound quiet appealing to me :)

How does the Emergency "brake" lights work? As my last car had emergency hazards under hard breaking. Similar thing?
